I can't find my check book anywhere and it's making me so mad!!! Granted, I never write checks and they are so old that they still say the bank's name from like 2 bank name changes ago, but it's making me angry. So now I have to go to the bank tomorrow and see if I can order new checks and then see if I can get a temporary check or two to tide me over. I originally was looking for my check book because my dad asked if I could lend him money for the weekend until he gets paid. Annoying!!!

But my mom and I went shopping today and I got a pair of jeans for $4.97!!! haha I need another pair of jeans like I need a hole in the head really, but how can you pass up jeans for less than $5? LOL I also picked out new glasses and just need to have my eye appointment on Monday for the updated prescription so that I can order those.

rainbowstripe 08-20-2010 12:10 AM

Chele: Exciting! New glasses are always fun and cheap jeans too!

I'm at work at the moment and a little annoyed - I'm in the middle of having a crown done for a molar tooth and they called me to see if I can come in to get it colour matched this afternoon because this afternoon is the last time they can match it in order to have the crown ready for my appointment next Wednesday - oh thanks guys! Why could you not have phoned me earlier in the week when this wasn't the last possible time? Now, since I'm at work (sole-charge) I have to go in on Saturday, the only time both me and my boyfriend don't have work to do and my appointment next week has been rescheduled. UGH. Dentists. Expensive and disorganised. Or that could just be mine.
Also, I really wanted sushi for lunch so I got some before I came into work but I could only eat 4 pieces before feeling a little iffy. I hate that about the sushi place by my work, sometimes it's really good and others it leaves me feeling not so great. So I've had an apple but I'm still definitely feeling that I need to eat something else - a bit headachey and sick-ish feeling, and I know it's from lack of food. Definitely below calories for what I'm usually at at 4pm!
Sorry to rant! On a positive note, I loved checking in on my Wii Fit this morning! 2.3kg down since the 9th of August! Which is.. 5 pounds! Pretty good I think! I asked the boyfriend if he could notice any difference because I think I definitely can around my waist but he says he sees me too often to notice. I guess that could be true?
Other than that, I am looking forward to a slightly "cheat" weekend, in that I'll still stick to my calories, but I might allow in some less than nutritionally benefitting items - I'm currently considering getting a short nonfat caramel macchiato from Starbucks as an afternoon treat, and I think I might have to eat some fries tonight or tomorrow.
Speaking of fries, last night the boyfriend suggested watching Supersize Me. I'd never seen it and wanted to, so we watched it. He was secretly hoping I'd never want french fries again I think - but the disturbing part is that the movie didn't put me off McDonalds - it actually made me crave some fries or a cheeseburger - isn't that horrible!

Well I'm still out here fallen off the wagon. I decided today was the day to get back on. I've gotten salmonella from some stupid contaminated eggs so this entire week I've had the runs like nobodies business so boot camp was out of the question....

I started today with a fast, I have no idea why but I felt like this was the right way to get back on track. Much to my surprise it was a piece of cake ... tomorrow morning I'm eating on track and getting back to losing weight. December is very important to me so I'm going to lose as much weight as I can until then.

I can get this done, I have no idea what my issue is.

caseygail21 08-20-2010 12:09 PM

Not much of an update here. The scale said 162 this morning which I was really happy about :) it's good to see it's finally moving down. However, I have made Wednesday my official weigh in day so I'm not going to put anything into my signature or Daily Plate until next Wednesday.
I'm going home this weekend and I get to see my precious nephew... super excited! :)
Have a Happy Friday!
Cheers to healthy choices!

Blcarter84 08-20-2010 12:46 PM

Good morning ladies!! It sooo totally does NOT feel like a friday to me. I keep saying I'm going to work out and then the kids interupt everything I'm trying to get done and I end up rushing just to get to work on time.

I am going to try even harder on Monday since my fiance's work is keeping track of excercise minutes and whoever gets the most wins a paid vacation day!

I hopped on the scale this morning just to see what damage I have done and it said 207!! Makes me happy:):) I would like to be down to or close to 190 by September 30th(fiances birthday).

Chele- totally jealous of your $5 jeans!! Wish I could find some for that cheap that I like but this town doesn't have that much to offer in ways of inexpensive cute clothes. And I'm sooo glad taht I can see....glasses and eye exams are ridiculously expensive and its not like you just CANT go.

Rainbow- stupid dentist! I had to have a crown done about 2 1/2 years ago due to my molar breaking from my one and only filling expanding....and they did it all in the same office visit. Made the crown right then and there before they put it in. Took like 20 minutes for them to make it. Plus I dont have dental insurance and so I dont go to the dentist(bad me) and she only charged me 900. The first visit she didn't charge me for the x-rays or anything which was nice.

Alright I gotta go track down my 3 1/2 year old and see what he's geting into...he's being awfully quiet..

audrina 08-20-2010 01:13 PM

Bl, quiet is never good. Hopefully he's not getting himself in too much trouble.

Kaitlyn89 08-20-2010 07:04 PM

Yay for 189.4 on the scale!!

Well today i made myfirst goal, so that was pretty awesome! If only i could lose the next half just as fast-shame that won't be happening. However the rest of the day wasn't great b/c i have had this bad heel pain lately, and when i looked at it today it pretty badly bruised in addition to the usual swelling so i skipped the gym. I get horribly anxious about not working out, esp 2 days in a row and for me its much easier to stick to my diet when i work out (and i do love/live for the couple hours my appetite is effectively curbed totally post work out) so that wasn't too much fun. Tomorrow i definitely will be getting to the gym.

rainbowstripe- Mine has always been a bit wonky, i have never even when i was on bc for ages been able to know to the day.
I used to get brazilian waxes, i remember the first time i just took off everything lol...i loved my waxing lady i told her i trusted her more then most of my friends (sad and funny). Congrats on looser jeans and weight loss.
That movie is pretty disturbing, but if i was having a craving for fries and watched it i bet i still might have one. Something i've taken to liking a lot is baking butternut squash for healthy fries. I've done some combos of splenda/cinnamon and also some w/curry and cumin. I'm a spice addict, next time i think i'll try paprika and something.
Dentist issues are never fun, god only knows when i'll be able to afford to see one again.

casey- Congrats on the loss as well.

hi ashley and kaitlynn!

BL- Hopefully he wasn't getting himself into any (or too much!) trouble!

Chele- I am waiting for the appt to be scheduled w/an eye clinic (a side effect of a med i am taking is eye problems, so through this low cost clinic i will see an eye doc and can afford it ha ha) so eventually i'll need to get glasses-its been years and years since i've had them, not that i have needed them any less! I mean i obviously manage w/out but its always funny how much it helps when i've had them!
$5, nice!

rainbowstripe 08-20-2010 08:55 PM

Just popping in post-exercise pre-shower to say hey! Won't get much time on the computer today, dentist and I'm going to see if I can find some of these magical Shirataki noodles I was reading about on a thread the other day.
Also hoping to do something FUN! And eating somewhere that isn't home, shock horror - hopefully I can make the right choices, but I'm kind of due for a little cheat anyway!

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

I like Stella's rule for this week. No whining, positive only. I've been gone again, despite my good intentions, because I had malaria! MALARIA! Ugh. 5 years in West Africa, and it finally hit me. The silver lining in this cloud is that it completely wiped out my appetite for a few days. Not so good for healing, but great for resetting both my stomach AND my idea of what's filling.

I've continued losing weight and I'm only 2 (ok, this morning it was 3) pounds away from onederland! Whooo! That makes a total of 10 kilos lost, and 23 pounds. It's taken me 5 months to get this far, but I think I'm ok with the slow losing. I can keep this up for a looooong time, and that's the important part.

Today's awesomely quick recipe:

Faux Mexcian Pizza

1. Make healthy refried beans (smashed red or white beans in a frying pan + a bit of oil + cumin + chili pounder) or use canned refried beans.
2. Spread refried beans on a big piece of flat bread.
3. Add chopped lettuce and tomatoes.
4. Sprinkle grated cheddar on top of the veggies (it really doesn't take much ... 70g is more than enough).
5. Bake until cheese is melted and beans are hot.
6. Bon appetit!

Yesterday, one of my (many many many) sisters-in-law dropped by to say hi, and she made me show her how to make crepes and flat bread Mexican pizza. Delicious! Today, I'm prepping for the week by making marinara sauce (to be frozen), flat bread pizzas (also to be frozen), lots of pasta salad, greek salad w/ chicken, and oatmeal cookies. My sisters-in-law have promised to stop by and learn how to make everything. Fun and exciting! I love sharing my love of veggies.

Chele615 08-22-2010 10:44 AM

OMG....malaria?!?!! That's crazy!!! Hope you're starting to heal.

I still live at home and my parents are gone for a whole week. I am really excited to go to the supermarket this afternoon to get food for the week. I want to try some new things and try to be as healthy as I can this week.
