Does this really work for sculping your body and losing weight? Does it make you bulky or just toned? I am thinking about trying this..

I have never done it but I know people who have, you can also go on youtube there are tons of people that do it and show their results. I think anyplan will work if you work it. Try it you may like it!!! I hear its very challenging though

I use P90X, but it's not the only thing I do. I like it, but not every day. It's very very intense, but it's a GREAT workout.

I did a lot of reading before I bought it, on eBay no less , and I love it. I looked at lots of before/after pics and watched things on YouTube.

I do it 3ish times a week. I'll to the cardio and ab ripper, or the polymetrix and ab ripper and then the yoga and ab ripper.

I like the cardio best!

Everyone I know that's used it has had amazing results. You're not using heavy weights, just your body weight, so you're not going to bulk up. Just get really really toned.

My roommates used to do it. They'd be in pain for days.

Stella,

If I remember correctly you are a big advocate for weight lifting. I am a total moron when it comes to it I really want to tone up. Could you maybe help me with an exercise plan for this? Are free weights and your body weight the best way to get toned? Do I need a gym or could I do this at home? Have you had success with weight lifting?

Haven't done that DVD, but I think jennieloveskisses has lost a significant amount of weight doing it... she might have some good info!

I do know there are a few ways to use it. You can do a "Lean" version that still builds muscle but is more aimed at weight loss. The calendar for each version comes with the DVDs if you buy them from beach body.

I do Chalean Extreme, people say it's a toned down version of P90X. Lots of weight lifting and I love it!

I can't answer your question about results because I just started. I just finished up my first week, today is my rest day and I definitely needed today. So far I really like it.. It is a very intense workout.. Exactly what I was looking for. I have been sore in a good way all week...

From the research I did before starting it is great for toning. I like it because it covers both cardio and weight training..

Good luck with what you choose to do..

I hear its pretty rough, but a great workout.

I do not advocate pirating... but I'd see if I could find it online before I shell out the money for it, I hear it's pricey.

I have it and I LOVE it. It's so much fun and I can feel my strength increasing. Do you have facebook? There's a P90X group on there that you can join with tons of before and after pictures and a discussion board.

That's why I got mine on eBay. I know they say 'youll get ripped off!' but... I buy a LOT of things on eBay... and I went for things only in the US, and from actual one-person-sellers, not just some 'eBay store'... I was leery of that. I ended up getting a great one, with the resistance band and all the books. Yes, she wrote in them, but I paid less than 1/4 of what it costs new.

Also, some of the meals in the little book are pretty darn good.

Thanks everyone! I have a friend that is going to let me borrow theirs. I am a little nervous. I keep hearing how intense it is!

I hear it's intense as well, I played with the idea of getting it but I'm doing New Rules of Lifting for Women right now.

Keep in mind, it is very difficult for women to 'bulk up'. We don't have testosterone like a man, and it's very difficult for us to build large amounts of muscle. Lifting with free weights helps increase your muscle and reduce your body fat, as well as it increases your resting metabolic rate so you naturally burn more calories even when not working out.

Unless your a genetic oddity or taking steroids, you won't 'bulk up'

I used to say the same thing until I realised all the lies that women believe in about exercise.

I do the Lean version of the P90X program and it's wonderful. I had lost 30lbs before I started it and was worried about all the loose skin. I can tell a significant difference just in the 30 days since I started. Good luck!
