ooook how good is a nice ol' tall glass of cold beer in a frosty glass?? yummmm
So obviously I will never give up a night on the town with the girls...I just gotta have "healthy" hangover food stocked for the day after ;) I will never give up eating REAL food. There is so much diet food out there that ISN'T real. Just food-type products. If it means that I have to eat a million carrots...so be it! |

I will never give up eating after dinner. I always allow myself 100 calories for either some popcorn or some ice cream. It really keeps me sane through the day..
And while I have given up diet coke at night with my treat I also have a Diet. Dr. Hansen's all natural soda in whatever flavor I picked up that week but only one |
I love this thread :)

AND YES. I am the same. All my sandwiches have mayo on them. REAL mayo and I never have and never will give that up. I always treat myself to my favorite junk food every so often. Maybe some chicken nuggets or such. I enjoy allowing myself stuff like that. |
1. Chinese food. YUM! I'm such a chinese food junkie.
2. Ice cream. I have decreased to low-fat or Light, though. |
candy bars
ice cream pretzel bread cookies cake I've given up fast food, and that's concession enough. I'll have any one of the desserts I mentioned above when I get ready. I have since I've started (for the most part), and I'm still managing to lose the weight at a decent pace, so I'm not sweating my choices. Gonna keep this up and be at my goal within the next 3 months, believe that. (If it means adjusting my intake of some of my desserts a bit, I'm willing to make allowances, but we'll see.) |
-Ice Cream- Sorry, but this vice is going to stay with me until the day I die.
-Diet Soda- I haven't had any in months, but I plan on having a can for my 21st B-day on monday -M&Ms- My favorite candy. I haven't hand these in over 6 months, but someday I will eat them again. |
Dessert/ice cream on a daily basis (it just has to be portion controlled, and I go sugar free because I wake up hypoglycemic if I don't).
Cupcakes (these are a rare treat, but I really won't ever give up cupcakes. My love for them is best described as extreme. I visit cupcakeries when I travel, picking up local specialties...my mom flew a dozen back from NYC on her lap because they were on my cupcakes to try list). My favorite date night meal - cheese, bread, meat, homemade jam, and wine. Quantities have changed (I became an alcohol lightweight...one glass of wine does me in), and we've bulked it out with veggies and fruit so we end up eating less cheese, but this is our "celebration" meal. We ate it in Paris, we ate it the night we got keys to our first house, we ate it on a hotel room bed on a weekend for our anniversary, and we ate it just last weekend, on a bed we pulled out into the living room, for an at-home movie night date. There is just nothing like a smear of brie on a slice of fresh sourdough, with a dollop of peach chipotle jam and a slice of prosciutto. |
I would never give up...
Coffee. Definitely. I know I am addicted- I suffer severe caffeine withdrawals when I don't have it. Which might cause a sane person to consider gradually cutting back. But then, I never made any claims to sanity! :coffee2: Wine. I know that alcohol doesn't fit into the clean eating lifestyle I am trying to embrace- but I refuse to give it up completely. I don't drink every day, or even every week (or month!) But sometimes- I want to just mellow out with a glass of wine (or 2) and a book- and I don't care how many useless calories it has! And honestly, that's about it. Some things I thought once I would never give up (Cheesecake! Sleeping in! Chick Fil A!) but as I have adjusted my schedule and priorities- things became easier to let go. And who knows- maybe one day I'll cut back on the coffee- and stop sharing a bottle of wine with my boss when she comes in town for my birthday. Who know? |
I wouldn't give up:
-my number one would be chocolate, can't live w/o it!! trying to learn to eat it in moderation, don't have to have it every day but it's my biggest craving! -the occasional cup of coffee, I've given up sodas and mainly drink water, but every once in a while I'll have a nice hot cup of coffee to keep me motivated and keep me going! -the occasional drink, I rarely drink but if we happen to be out I'll drink just one! |
I travel quite often, and I've eaten a lot of strange (and delicious) things. I would never give up trying a local/national specialty wherever I am!

French Fries. Oh my. I am trying to fit them into my calorie allowance once every fortnight. I've just finished my first fortnight back on the wagon (exercising and consciously eating healthier/calorie counting) and I still haven't had some - but I know it's going to happen pretty soon!
Trying new things while overseas. If I've been recommended a restaurant or some tasty treat and I know it's only available in that country, I'm not going to deny the chance to try something I might not get to have again. Unless it's some ridiculously high calorie, high fat thing - maybe then I'd have to share it! Hah. A few drinks every so often. If I want to go out and have a few drinks, I'm not going to beat myself up. I'll try to allow for it in my calories and I won't drink more than I plan to. |
-chocolate (omigod I heart Mini Eggs!)
-occasional drink and out dancing w/ my girlfriends. -occasional naps -tea and sometimes coffee (although I am able to drink it with just skim milk now..no sweeteners/sugar or cream) -Coke Zero...again not every day I'll also never give up going to Zumba and shoe/purse shopping. Like i always say to myself...I don't smoke/drink a lot/do drugs or waste money..I work hard and deserve these pretty things :-). |
Avocados! They may have healthy fat, but they still have a lot of calories. However, I still eat 1 a week :)
Also pretzels. For some reason I am OBSESSED with sourdough hard pretzels. Too bad once I start eating them I cannot stop. At school during the year I refuse to buy them, but this summer while living at home I wil eat them occasionally since my dad buys them. I salivate just thinking about them! (i'm a little crazy, I know!) |
