Ohio is a lot better than people think. I'll never understand why people think it's so awful!

I love it. I live in a pretty big town and we JUST started locking our doors at night recently. Heh. Not much happens in my part of Akron. My DH didn't even know the town I'm from until he met me, and he's lived around here his whole life!! :D

Plus, we have seasons!! HAHA.

Me too! I go to Omaha about twice a month or so for school. :)

fivestone 07-28-2010 04:45 PM

I've lived in Atlanta, GA (and Mableton!); Portland, Oregon; Hattiesburg, MS; Vomp, Austria; London, England; and now another town near Innsbruck, Austria.

Foxlette 07-28-2010 06:06 PM

I currently live in the central/Lakes Region of New Hampshire, but I am a Massachusetts native! Actually born in Long Beach, CA - but was a military brat for a few years of my very young life. Lived in MA for 22 years! Also briefly lived in TX and KS last year, just to see family and see a different part of the US. In school currently, but plan to return to Boston upon graduation. Love that dirty water!

I have to admit that I am a hater, I guess I've just grown up somewhere that doesn't really interest me as a place to live forever. Also, I think eastern and southern Ohio is beautiful, but over where I'm at at least, its flat as a pancake..and boring.. and as for seasons in Ohio..they are Fall Winter Spring and Construction.

This must be true of many places! In my humble observations...

Mass - Fall/Winter/Rain/Construction

Kansas - Winter/Hot/Construction

Texas - Hot/Construction/Hot/Hot/Hot/Construction

New Hampshire - Snow/Rain/Construction/Humidity/Snow

:D

One thing I have to give to Ohio, as well as the rest of the Midwest -- people seem so hardworking and down-to-earth there. :)

girlonfire 07-28-2010 07:03 PM

I don't hate Ohio! I've been there a few times. It's kinda flat, but so is Indiana(where I go to school). Cincinnati is really fun!

LOL in Oregon we only have two seasons: Rain and Construction

luciddepths 07-28-2010 07:53 PM

LOL I don't know about other places but that is definitely true for Texas!!!

freshsteph 07-29-2010 12:04 AM

OH-IO! Go to school in Akron and live about an hour and a half south of there.

Paramedic 07-29-2010 12:11 AM

I'm born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

I plan on moving to NY (not the city...) eventually, though. I honestly don't like it here too much. It has it's highlights, but mountains are so much better than flat farmland!

abcunnin 07-29-2010 12:56 AM

San Diego! Grew up here, but went to school in Chicago, lived in LA for a bit, and now I'm back!

There's a few lurking around here. Luvja, Jenny G and Chele are Canadian girls. Granted, Chele is an honorary Canadian, but I count her none the less!

Haley what parts of Ohio are you moving to? And may I ask why??? I guess since i've lived here my whole life It's pretty plain here! lol

Jlyne327 07-30-2010 10:24 AM

Hi everyone!! :) I'm from CT

Phoenix301 07-30-2010 12:12 PM

Well yeah i have to admit there are a few things I like about Ohio..i guess i just dont get out enough. I personally think Lima is kind of a run down city, but I wouldn't mind living somewhere like Columbus or near Cleveland/Akron area. And yes I also wondered where you are moving to Haley..If it happens to be Lima I hope i haven't made you more afraid lol. Also, my brother moved to Gaithersburg and has worked in Silver Springs for several years now, but now he lives in Burk VA (still just outside of DC), so I'm familiar with that area too, and you are right, it certainly will be a change! Welcome to Ohio when you get here!

HaleyisLove 07-30-2010 02:10 PM

I'm moving to Toledo

I'm a Canada girl as well! I was born in Vancouver but moved to Calgary when I was 12 years old and stayed there until I was 18 when I moved to Southampton, England, for university. Still here in the UK, though last year I moved to Bournemouth and on Tuesday I am moving to Cambridge (!!!!), which is just north of London.

I'll be back in Canada eventually as my boyfriend (who I met at uni - he's English) is quite interested in living there for a bit and I really miss it!
