TMI, but.....

Does anyone else stay hungry during PMS???

It makes it hard to stay on plan because I have the munchies all week. geez. And to top that off, my boxer, Moses, bit my exercise ball last night and it deflated... :tantrum:

I am down 2 pounds, though, so it's not all bad.;)

I do find that time harder- I actually slightly increase my calories during that time- I figure I must need it. I usually try to up the protein during that time. I figure I need more iron.

that time...all the time... lol
but no, I def have a harder time saying no to food during that time of the month. And it always seems to be when i'm doing really well. IT comes along to spoil my loss.

You do need upped calories. Your body is going through processes that burn more calories, so it is appropriate to up your intake just a little bit.

during PMS.. i am never satiated.. can be full.. can have all my calories.. can have extra calories.. but for some reason i can keep eating.

last night was a very hard night for me :( the thing is that it's never constant.. some times it happens 2 days before my TOM, some times a whole week before.. and if i cannot put my finger on it and say "aaah, that's going on", i get really angry at myself on top of everything else...

MosesMom1 06-10-2010 10:33 AM

Thanks ladies! Glad to know I'm not weird  My hollow leg is pretty much gone for this week, and it has helped to up my calories a little. Now I'll know next time.

grrrkgrrrl: I know exactly what you mean! Before I started bc I was never sure when TOM would hit, and I would beat myself up for eating the house down the week before! Oh well, such is life ;)

Yes! Last week was an awful week for me and AF came at the end of it. I ate and ate and ate...I don't know how I ate as much as I did.

JadeBlue14 06-10-2010 12:32 PM

I am ravenous a couple days before and 2 or so days after I start my period.
I can also just eat and eat and never feel like I'm full.

bama girl 06-10-2010 01:43 PM

I start my period and want to eat the entire universe.

But I lose about 2-3 pounds that stay off as well, so I think my metabolism just goes through the roof.

I have a wicked hard time right before, during, and right after TOM. For some reason I always feel like I'm hungry, and controlling the snacking is super hard during that time!

shortstuff17 06-11-2010 01:40 AM

I prefer chocolate lol... i know, not good but its all in moderation, one piece wont kill ya, just work it in to your calorie count for the day, or work out a few extra minutes :)

darlingbee2 06-11-2010 01:46 AM

Durning, my TOM i always get a lot of sleep, drink a LOT of water, and eat fiber-licious food.

Sometimes fatigue and thirst can make the body feel hungry when it's not. :dizzy:

JMfan 06-14-2010 08:11 PM

I wish hunger was my problem during my TOM. Since I've been eating cleaner and more healthily, my appetite is virtually nonexistent. It takes about a week after it's over before I began eating normally again.
