Juniors Sizing VS. Womens Sizing

I normally don't mind paying a little more for staple items like jeans at Lucky Brand or A&F. Yesterday I was on a mission to find cheaper temporary jeans that I can wear now, still in the beginning of my journey.
I guess what is frustrating me is I'm too young to be wearing Jaclyn Smith jeans and apparently too old to be in juniors still (which are sized to fit girls bodies that haven't grown curves yet). So what am I to do? Someone suggested wearing dresses, which I don't mind once and a while, but not everyday.

I'm having a LOT of trouble finding age-appropriate clothes lately. At 21 I'm finding it REALLY frustrating to go out shopping. I feel too old for American Eagle and too young for Banana Republic, and I feel stuck! Looking forward to advice from other chicks out there

Personally womens clothing just doesnt fit my body well. Not sure if you have a jcpenney where you live but i like the way their jr. jeans fit. Might try kohls if you have one they have a big selection on jr. jeans as well.

I'm also in the transition phase between women's and juniors. I'm 22. For casual stuff (sundresses, jeans, etc) I'm perfectly comfortable with wearing things from American Eagle and the like. But nicer clothes, I feel a bit young to be wearing a lot of things in the women's departments. Where are normal jeans? Jeans between really destressed pre-shredded uber flared junior jeans and mom jeans.

I like gap and old navy jeans, I find them to be pretty "normal".

If you have a Macy's, check out American Rag (in juniors) or INC (in missy). They are lower cut, trendier, and tend to still be forgiving for some curves. If you want to size down in jeans, try Style & Co. :)

I'm 29 and I still buy jeans at American Eagle! And I see you're a shorty like me. :p

Otherwise, I get petites from Gap or Banana Republic off the sale racks or when they go on sale online.

I guess AE is the cheapest I've found that I like with short inseams.

Always, always on sale. ;)

skinny jeans, when fitted correctly, look good on women of most sizes especially in a darker color. They are also pretty generic, age-less, and don't usually come too pre-distressed/torn.

As i've been on the way down weight-wise i find new jeans in Marshalls or TJ Maxx for in the $20s and sometimes even teens.

You can be any age and still shop at American Eagle or A&F. It doesn't really matter. I've seen lots of older people in those shops buying stuff for themselves. The only store you'd look weird going in and buying clothes would probably be Deb's (if you're college-age)...

I am also 21, and I really like New York & Company, I always find cute stuff there and it seems pretty age appropriate.

for less expensive, i say old navy. they have cuts that i wear (i'm 26 but have been wearing the same cut since i was about 21) and that my mom (who's 60) wears...so you can go old lady if you want, or be stylish.

for the more expensive end, buckle is a great place to shop. they have super cute styles, plus they do denim fittings to be sure you find the perfect fit of jean (they even helped me get rid of that stupid gap at the belt band in the back that has been haunting me for years!). also, their sizes don't go by womens sizes, they do inches which makes me feel better haaha

I agree with the thrift store and old navy.. thats where i usually get mine :)

I'm a PZI girl. I've got hips, butt, thighs and a small waist and they fit very nicely. They're not mom jeans, but they aren't made for teen bodies either.
