Smile how do you keep track?

Hey all!

Just wondering what method works best for everyone in terms of documenting their food intake and exercising.

do you write everything down?
do you use online programs?
how do you stay motivated to keep track?

do you do anything special to document your progress week by week?

thanks ladies! looking for inspiration!

I use fitday.com since its free. I log my food, weight, goals using that program.

I also use my Facebook account and word docs/excel docs to keep track of progress.

To stay motivated I join challenges on here. I make small monthly goals for myself. I also take picture & video progress logs which are always keeping me going! I let everyone know where I am with my weight loss and where I want to go and that also kicks me in the butt every morning when I think about "skipping/cheating" lol

For tracking food/weight a friend recommended DailyBurn.com. It's free and super easy to look up just about any food including brand names. They'll break down calorie, fat, carb intake for you too. You can also track your exercise on there, but some of the things I do aren't in the exercise list to chose from.
So for exercise I made my own chart. What ever day I worked out on I record what I did and for how long, and some times calories burned. I made monthly goals too. I post these records on the fridge so the hubby can see them and cheer me on or encourage me to push myself. I also made room at the end of each week for weight and measurements so I can see my progress. Seeing is believing!

I track my weight in Excel and use the "log food" section on mymedifast page.

I track mine on SparkPeople.com

There is also a non internet one that you can download called Cronometer. I can just use it on my laptop without having to have internet connection which is great.

As of this morning, I was writing it all down by hand in my journal. I've just joined up to the daily plate and I love it! I was also looking up calories at calorieking.com, but I find this site much more accurate. There's so many features to explore.

Thanks to those who recommended it!

I usually plan out everything for the day in Fitday as far as food goes. If anything changes, I have a small notebook in my purse, so it's always with me, that I keep my measurements and exercise logged in and I'll note it in there.
