Diet Vs Exercise
Starting an open debate on which will make you lose weight quicker.
Diet with little to no exercise.... or....Exercise without changing your diet. I personally think the key to weightloss is Diet...although I feel you must have exercise if you dont want flab and a squishy body...... |
There have been many studies that conclude that the key to losing weight is about 80% diet, 20% exercise.
Personally, I have to do both. If I don't exercise, I do not lose weight - my metabolism is funny (always has been). |
Well I have been over in Afghanistan for about 2 months now and me and my supervisor had a competition on who could lose more weight....
Albert start weight- 195 My start weight- 175 In 2 months he has gone down to 174 total of 26 pounds lost strictly on diet. and light activies through the day. In 2 months I went from 175 to 158 total of 17 pounds and I did more of a strict exercise plan and didnt really diet...... I think it really varies person to person. |
I think for me it's more diet. This is actually the first time I've used exercise as a means to lose weight...in the past, I always hated it and just dieted strictly. And there have been a few weeks this time around that I couldn't or didn't work out, but as long as I stuck to my diet, I still lost weight.
|
Yes, I think everyone's different, but its very difficult to compare male weight loss to female weight loss.
|
I agree....he could have not dieted and just worked out and still lost the weight........
|
Exactly.
I'm friends with a couple who is doing weight watchers together. In the first month she exercised, ate well and lost about 10 lbs. He ate better than he was (not well) didn't exercise and cut out beer - lost 30 lbs. She is ready to KILL him lol. |
My husband does it more with exercise than diet, and I do it more with diet than exercise.
We started weight watchers in Sept, and I've lost 75 pounds and he's lost 50. I think it depends on the person, but I don't think you can ever exercise enough to compete with bad eating habits, but you can eat enough less to lose without working out. |
Yea I think in general mean can lose weight easier then females...they are just designed to be well hunters....we are designed to be soft child bearers lol
|
I agree with Stellarosa27. For me I happen to like to exercise. But why not get toned and firm while losing weight? It makes a big difference in how you look.

I have to do both, however I think that its more a mental thing than a physical thing for me.
