Foot falling asleep??
I have been walking and this is my 3rd week. Today, after about 30 minutes into it, my left foot completely fell asleep and went numb. I thought this was very strange because it had never happened before. Yes, my feet would get numb on a treadmill or elliptical, but never walking on a paved road/track. Have any of you experienced this??? As soon as we got back to the car and I was able to take my weight off that foot, it went back to normal. I could actually feel the blood going back into it. It was very weird....and scary.

I had the same problem, but it was mostly when I started working out but only during aerobics. My left foot would have pins and needles. I got looser fitting shoes with better arch support (I have flat feet), which helped. Also, being in better cardio shape helped, too.

Maybe your shoe was tied tighter than normal or you were wearing thicker socks? Especially if it's a new pair of shoes.
I'm saying this with a complete straight face btw. :) It's happened to me and loosening the strings does the trick. |
I had this problem. I was tying my shoes too tight.
Also, your feet swell when you are on them a long time. You should go up 1/2 to 1 size in walking/running shoes if you plan on doing many miles. |
I take 1/2 to 1 size larger in sneaks than street shoes.
Also, learn to lace in different ways. http://www.runnersworld.com/article/...2334-0,00.html HTH! A. |
Thanks for the input!! Maybe it was tied tighter than usual...I will let you know how tomorrow's walk goes. :)
