Lissa - NO SLACKING!!! Play with your kids. Find something you guys can do together so that you're getting your heart rate going too....or.... take them to the park and make some time later (even if it is tonight after they're in bed) to do your work out!!!! :)
Natalie - WELCOME! You are more than welcome to jump in at any point even if it is later in the week! Sounds like the job is pretty sweet!!! Can I go to Mexico with you?!!??! Smisen - I remember now. Just out of curiosity based on how you're dressed - are you into Indian culture at all? |
Hey everyone,
I'll be able to do more personals when I get home. Feral - awesome job on the weight loss. Feel better though. Chris - I wish I could do that. That's great that you took a stand. You also called her out when she couldn't give one example. Karma sucks and you gave a her a dose of her own medicine Ali - don't say that. Its all about the power of positive thinking. You can do this and we are all here to support you. Stella - the body really is just funny, except no one is laughing anymore. Have you changed up your workout routine lately. That might help too. Also try focusing on your heartrate and count the beats for 5 seconds. Then multiple by 10. I tried that as an indicator and found some days I was pouring buckets and had a low heartrate. Others it was racing and my shirt was almost completely dry. I am completely sore from head to toe. Saturday I did a sports conditioning class followed by circuit training and flag football on sunday back to back. Then we were supposed to meet family friends for dinner, but my mom canceled the restaurant and decided to do it at our house instead. Her suggestion was to order olive garden, but I said I would cook since that was I could also make it a little healthier and also make my own. Well she then decided to invite more people and it went from 6 to 12 people in 2.5 seconds. Holy moly that was a lot. I am wiped, but refuse to miss kickboxing tonight. Natalie - feral and I are packing ourselves in your suitcase for mexico so make room hehe |
Feral- No getting ill! It’s better to take a rest day! I was so upset and tired yesterday that I didn’t push myself to do my run like I was going to. Take a nice rest, get extra sleep, and drink lots of water and hopefully you’ll feel better!
Skinnybride- A good ankle strengthening exercise is simple ankle circles, also sit in a chair and hold your leg out in front of you, write the alphabet with your toes pointed. And calf raises. Smisen- I love bellydancing! I want to do it at a Renn Faire sometime. I’ve just taken classes though, and do it on my own. Someday I’ll have motivation to dance in front of others though :) Keep the stress low with the wedding planning! Lissa- Play tag! Kids love tag :) Starmac- Holy wah! That’s a lot of people to cook for! I get distressed when I have 1 person over for dinner. --- Oy, so I’ve been worrying all day about this job, and hoping that I will still have it this summer. It is the most wonderful camp job ever, and I do love the kids and all the other staff. That one woman just ruins it for everyone though. She’s completely the reason why a lot of great staff members don’t come back for another summer. However, the boss does seem to keep her every year. I need one of the higher ups this week though to see if I still have my job. I know it will mean working with evil woman again, but the kids are worth it. So frustrating. I was so mad and tired from all of this yesterday that I went to bed at 8pm and slept until 7am. |
I am not speaking to my scale.

Alana - I don't really have a "routine" per say, I do whatever I feel like, and 6 days out of 7 its a different thing, as long as I get between 45 and 60 minutes, I'm golden. The one thing I am consistent on is my push ups/etc on alternating days. And my heart rate does have to be up for me to sweat a lot - typically anywhere between 140 and 160 releases the flood, but I usually like to vary my intensity - get it up to 160, rest to 130, then up again, so on and so forth.
It was just so odd - on Tuesday I did 55 minutes on the stairmaster, did my push ups and my body was soaked afterwords. Wednesday I went on a brisk, 4 mile walk, I sweat a bit, but my heart rate wasn't up, it was just exercise. Thursday I went outside for a run, I did sweat a bit, but not as much as I usually do running, then Friday after doing 60 minutes on the stairmaster NOTHING. My face was wet, but that's all. Not my arms, under arms, legs, butt, anything. And let me tell you, that was a struggle on Friday. Same thing with Saturday on the elliptical and stairmaster, and Sunday spinning - and I'm drinking water, which is not leaving my body. I even tried having some coffee before working out (that helps sometimes) but niente. I also (not to be TMI) didn't have a BM for a few days, although that seems to be uh, righting itself today thanks for lots of fruit. Smisen - I love that picture of you - you look like you're having so much fun, and I'm pro anything to do with the Ren Fest. Everlasting - Everything will be ok. Maybe she'll see gain some respect for you for standing up to her? My boss is like that. She's mean, and she kind of preys on the ones who are timid, but if you stick up for yourself, she lays off. |
Everlasting- thanks thats one of the exercises i found on youtube they feel better this afternoon i still did 30ds this morning but did all low impact and i took some joint meds i use for my wrist when it is bothersome.

Stella/Everlasting - Thanks - I love that picture :) My Ren Faire character is Sabra, the daughter of a Spanish olive farmer who's been promised to life in a monastery, but instead runs away to join the gypsies. I love it! It's exhausting - we do 6 half hour shows a day, two days a weekend (I haven't even tried to count the calories for that!), but it's such a fun atmosphere. I hope the group invites me back to dance again this year, although I know the summer's going to be pretty crazy for me.
Feral - I love Indian dance and music (I saw a FANTASTIC bhangra performance this weekend - very cool!), although I'm not very educated about it. The costume is sort of a tribal/folkloric bellydance costume, made period-appropriate for the Ren Faire. |
Hey ladies how are you so far?
smisen: Omg I love how pretty you look with your faire clothing. I just had to add that. Stella:The only thing that ever gets sweaty on me is my head. You can put me in the warm scorching sun to run and only my head get sweaty. But this means I have to wash my hair a lot. Everlasting: You so rock! Seriously as a teacher my students' happiness comes first in this kind of situations. Sometimes you just have to be a bit more bendy. Good work on telling that lady how mean she is. Now so far... I went to the gym and apparently they got my muscle calculation mixed last time I was there. I am happy to say I did not lose a 2% of muscle but rather gained 1% of it and lost 2% of fat. I am so happy. Also people returned back to the gym today and it was packed! I had to share the swimming pool lane with six other people, while usually I only share it with another person, maximum two. Went back to work today as schools were closed for Easter holidays. My boss still nags me like crazy. That man is such a bundle of nerves, he is always aggitated and nags at me all the time, even though I am extremely dedicated on my work. Sometimes I just wish he would leave me alone. I know he does that out of agitation and it really has nothing to do with my job performance but sometimes even I need a break. |
Feral - The potential sponsor has not gotten back to me so I'll have to fill you in later. No pre-jinxing. Let me get on GChat though.
Stella - I'm pretty sure that weight is the BM. You'll be surprised how much your poop weighs. And yes for putting the scale into Purgatory. Eff that thing. It doesn't tell you that you can do an hour on the stairmaster. It doesn't tell you that you are a beast at hiking. It doesn't tell you that you spin at high intensity. Put that thing away for a few days, let it miss you, and then it'll reward you :) My hips hurt like an old woman today. |
Hello girls :) I hope everyone had a good weekend. I can't believe it's Monday already. But I only have to wake up 4 more times before April break and I am so freaking excited :)
I got another *****y email today at work from a coworker...this time about my former homeroom students. UGH! I am so freaking done with that place. It's not even funny how mad I was this afternoon. The email just set me off. I am in such desperate need for vacation, it's not even funny!!! |
Thanks guys! I went to the store today and armed myself with plenty of fresh fruit for the week, I had been lacking the past few days. I've gotten really used to eating delicious bananas so much that I missed them.
I had a presentation today in one of my classes (Molecular Biology of Signal Transduction) and my prof told me he was very surprised, actually, and impressed with my speaking and the way I presented the information. He said I will be a very good speaker in the future. :) Maybe now that I am finished with that, my stress levels will go down a tad and I can lose some friggen weight. ALSO, I GOT MY SIGNED PICTURE FROM ROBERT PICARDO TODAY AND I AM ECSTATIC!!!! Stella: I am going to be with you on sending my scale to purgatory. |
I wish whoever is stalking my internet browsing would stop ninjaing the houses I want to rent! Its annoying -_-
|
Feral doubts that I might still be lurking. I am always around hiding in the shadows. That or I am not nearly as outgoing as the rest of you. :P
I will concur on currently disliking the scale. Although mostly I just don't know if I can trust it, when it can flip 5 lbs in a few seconds. Also - since I am at an important weight change it has definitely affected my mood as I go below 300, then back above, repeat for a week. |
LMAO I just remembered all of the stuff we divulge in this chat... I'm sure you get an eye (or ear) full... WOW!!!!
And I don't doubt your lurking, but you never say anything and I didn't want you to feel excluded this morning. :) DUH! |
Smisen- I'd love love love to see more photos, you dancer chica. :) My aunt is in a dance troupe and teaches classes. She studied for some years in Chicago, and I just love watching bellydancers (and dancing myself of course).
Chele- Whooot for vacation! Just 3 weeks left of school here, and then we're out for the summer, so that will be a nice vacation there! --- Thanks for all the encouragement about my scary boss, ladies. :) I hope to hear from them eventually so that I know if I have my summer job, so I'm thinking if they don't call me by Wednesday to tell me, I will call them on Thursday. I'm really stressing about it. One good thing was that I had to go to this skillbuilder session today, which was called "Deep Muscle Relaxation". It consisted of laying on the floor while the lady spoke in this soft voice and told us which muscles to tense and relax. By the end of it I thought I was sinking through the floorboards I was so relaxed. Very nice. Then I went shopping and got some chicken and fruits and veggies. :) Someone put a PINEAPPLE in my mailbox today. It had a note taped on it with my name and address, but it was the most ridiculous thing ever to find when I checked my mail. Yesterday I found an orange in my mailbox. One of my friends is being silly, I'm sure... hm... |
