Breakfast disaster.
To preface, being as big as I am, the amount I need to eat to maintain weight would shock most of you. I had a cheat meal this morning which is perfectly allowed... The thing I need to make sure I don't do is turn it into a cheat day, or a cheat week. So I'm going to post back here tomorrow night and verify that I did in fact eat the way I was supposed to eat.
For your entertainment, I had: 4 buttery pancakes w/ syrup a t-bone steak 3 fried eggs 2 orders of hashbrowns a huge omlette w/ steak cheese and veggies. a tall glass of 2% milk ...and yes, it was delicious and I don't feel bad about it. :) |
ahem... i hate you, that is all :s:
|
Hey, you know what. I can eat the same as you if I want to. I don't want to because I want to lose weight and I couldn't eat all that and get to be a svelte chick. But if you can, I am happy for you and not jealous. I know what works for each one of us is different. I am happy I can eat a skinny cow ice cream sandwich and still ose a couple of pounds! Yeeehaaa!
Glad to have you posting. Stick around and make sure you stay on plan. YOUR plan, not mine! Barb |
I understand that you are very tall and your body weight requires a lot of calories. But, are you sure this is still not calorie over kill for one meal? It looks like well over 3,000 calories for just one meal.

I would be physically ill if I tried consuming even a quarter of that... actually probably if I tried eating only a quarter of a quarter hehe :P
My boyfriend however probably wouldn't have a problem but then he's 6'9 and an athlete lol. Hateful person can eat what he wants though not that he does since it affects training/performance! |
angelskeep - Skinny cow ice cream sandwiches are the best! i used to always reward myself with one (and sometimes two!) at the end of a good day!
reagensquad- WOW! that's a big breakfast! I guess the only good thing about going all out on breakfast is that you can burn it off during the day. Sometimes i'll let myself have a big breakfast (but not quite that big!!) and cut down on the other meals. |
Good for you, I guess. Not jealous at all because I hate the taste of everything on your cheat meal menu.
|
I don't see why you titled this a disaster? Because you say you said you didn't feel bad about it, and said it was delicious...?
|
Am I the only one that's curious as to whether you stuck with it or not? I hope you did... I'm in your corner rooting for you!!!!!
So let us know! |
I'm not really so concerned with the calories (well, I am still am), but that is also the fat and cholesterol in that meal is enough for an entire week. I can imagine that consuming that much would put a lot of stress on one's body to try and process it all.
What's the point of posting that on a diet forum, if you're happy you ate it? I'm not saying you should feel super guilty about it, but it almost seems like you're rubbing it in? |
I'm going to play Devil's advocate here.
What's the problem that he DOESN'T feel bad about eating it? For him it was what I call a "planned diversion." He knew he was going off plan and he ate what he wanted... and he didn't feel bad about it. I speak for myself and after posting on here for a few years the MAJORITY of us have horrible guilt after eating poorly and can't seem to let that go... which in turn causes shame and guilt which further perpetuates the problem. I think it's great that he didn't feel bad. He allowed himself to enjoy it and now (hopefully) he's back on track. Why is that such a bad thing? EDIT: (please note - still playing devil's advocate) Why is it that he's rubbing it in? Because he can eat a lot more food than the majority of us could? He posted for ACCOUNTABILITY. How is that any different than someone posting on here what they ate during a binge or an off plan weekend? Granted, our weekend would probably be the whole meal he ate, but how is it different? |
Food porn. I couldn't imagine eating all that for breakfast. At my highest weight I think I could eat it all, but it would have been breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can eat some very delicious healthy food. You don't have to resort to "cheating" because you feel like healthy food isn't good. I also hope that you are trying to research healthy foods some and the results of eating healthier.
I also hope that you got back on your plan, I see that you have lost some weight so it must be working. Good luck. :) |
OK, thanks for clarifying. I see your point.
|
I have indulgent meals sometimes and I don't feel bad about it. Fat tastes GOOD. If I'm going to go off plan, I own that - I try to be conscious of what I'm putting in my body, if I'm NOT okay with eating that many calories, I don't do it.
Good for you for planning it, sticking with it, and ENJOYING it. |

Holy calories batman! I don't even know if I could get all that food down, and I can usually binge with the best of them! lol But good for you for not feeling guilty for having an off plan meal one time. I'm curious whether you stayed on plan the rest of the day?
|
Guess he didn't get back on plan because he didn't post last night like he said he would. That was an obscene amount of food.
|
I am curious too if he got back OP.. I can barely eat 2 pancakes... I would not be able to even move after all that.
Its good to plan ahead for meals like that, but not go overboard. |
I've had those "Goodbye" meals before. That is ALOT but it sounds delicious.
|
Oh goodness!!!
Well, at least you got it out of your system for a while, a long while I hope. Stick that cheat breakfast in your back pocket and keep it there for a while. I'm glad you don't feel bad about yourself, most ppl do and that turns to shame! I would like to steal an item or two off your menu, but can't! I'm just getting started lol! Make sure you keep posting, it keeps you honest lol. Good luck with your goals and keep your head up!!! |
My father used to eat big breakfasts on the weekends, too, though he was a foot shorter and only one or two of those dishes would suffice!
Since I've read your other post with your progress pics and know you do a lot of weight lifting, I know this one meal will not make a dent in the long run. You're probably getting a lot of shocked responses because you're talking to women with very different standards. Do you belong to any forums for men? |

BTW, good news. I'm grilling up a couple of chicken breasts for lunch, and planning on a couple of lean cubed steaks and veggies for dinner... I've got to be honest though, I was really close to ordering a pizza but I thought better of it. Time to get down to that 1/2 way mark this week. :D |

I would give anything to have a morning like that! My family always makes a big breakfast Sunday, usually biscuits and gravy, and I used to eat myself sick! This Sunday the hubby made biscuits and gravy.
So what did I do? Hmmm.... I smelled it until I was in a state of gravy inebriation and then I drank a slimfast. I'm so jealous of you, my dear. But, it was an interesting read, with all the light weights on here that couldn't imagine eating that much in one sitting : ) |
I love breakfast. Favorite meal of the day! I don't like steak with it, but swap that sucker for some pork links or bacon and we'd be best friends for life.
Anyway, I think it's fine you got a "cheat" meal in and at 6'6" I can't even begrudge you the calories for it. I actually had eggs and sausage the other day and ****, looking at that plate the only thing that'd throw my tummy off was the pancakes or hashbrowns, haha. P.s. I like your Deathstar. |
Thats a LOT of food! Haha even when I was..lets just say participating in "extra" curricular activities I couldnt pound down steak, eggs, omelettes, potatoes, and pancakes! Though I do also have a nearly bottomless pit of a stomach.
|
That sounds sooooo good. Maybe i'll make my cheat day on friday some Eggs and bluberry pancakes.
|
Its my birthday so today is my disaster lunch (not dinner becuase jerks at work are making me work 2nd shift even on my birthday). Chicken Farfalle and garlic with a slice of Chris's Outragoues Chocolate cake.
|
so I had one of those goodbye/cheat weekends but it ended up being WAY too much. In ONE DAY I had half a large pizza, three pastry delights, two 500 calorie brownies, PF Changs kung pao chicken, PF Changs soup, TWO bowls of cereal, and one bowl of chicken noodle soup. I am in shock. The total was over 5000 calories.
I am in shock. I have no idea how it happened. I don't know how to begin to compensate for it. The last two days my eating has been relatively normal, thank God, but still not low enough to make up for that Sunday. Im just going to have to move forward from that day. ugh. |
