Ridiculous & Unrealistic Weightloss Ads
 

I'd like to compile a thread of RIDICULOUSNESS.

I invite all of us as a community, to compile a big pile of stupid internet weight-loss banners that we can laugh at and metaphorically BURN for their sheer stupidity and annoyingness. My favourites are the ones where the before and after pictures are so blatantly NOT the same person that it makes me facepalm in horror.

So, the next time you see a stupid diet pills, or "this could be you!" ad, add it to the pile!

do they really think we believe that is the same person's stomach from one picture to the next?

Ha! Those are awesome. I normally have AdBlock Plus and No Script running, so I don't see banners anymore. I forgot how silly they can be.

I too use noscript and ad block, and i love it how they also use completely different angles for the photos :dizzy:

You know what I find hilarious?

(a) When the "before" photo is one ethnicity and the "after" is another
(b) When the "before" photo is obviously just the model for "after" on the same day, slouching over with their tummy sticking out and frowning
(c) When they misspell things left and right

I have a friend who makes extra money as the before person in the before and after pictures. He does ads a couple times a year and it usually makes enough for him to go on a decent vacation once a year. My friend's gf, who is a tiny tiny little thing, played an "after" in a weight loss commercial.

I also know of one company that was sued (though I can't remember which one off the top of my head) who hired fit people took their picture then had them gain weight and then weeks later took the before picture.

So yeah, I've come to the conclusion that non of those ads are real!!!!!

I'm not sure I could really enjoy a vacation I earned in that way!

Those ads are hilarious. But you know what? There are people who actually fall for them and buy whatever it is they're selling! So, yeah they DO think and hope we're THAT dumb!

i willtry and find it later but i love the one where the before picture is of a 7 month pregnant women..like..really....

I like that just because they put the models in the same bra that well believe that its the same person.

And 35 pounds in 4 weeks! Gee, it also apperantly gives you abs as well.

it also gives you a tan!! LOL

I remember reading someone's diet blog a few weeks ago, and companies were using her before and after pictures from her website and putting them into their ad's, even making up false testimonies from her. It is crazy how far companies like that will go to deceive someone.
