scales...

So my old scale, which has been good to me for the past 10 or so years has finally decided to kick the bucket this morning.

any suggestions for a new one would be appreciated...i was on the bed and bath website and they all seem to do different things...

just need a direction to go in!

wish there was one that would plug into my computer and help me track that way!

I have a weight watchers digital scale i got at sams club that i really like

thenicole84 03-01-2010 04:45 PM

I think I have the same WW scale. It's really good...just not showing me the numbers that I want :P. Soon enough!

I also have a weight watchers one. I don't like mine. After only a year, it doesn't work well. Every time I step on it it gives me a different number (within a 3 pound range). I have even changed the batteries, and it still does the same thing.I think I am also in the market for a new scale.

hey nicole! looks like we're twins lol!

I've had a tanita body fat scale for almost 9 years and it has served me well (moving from dorms to apartments to back home, very sturdy). Obviously the body fat% is not super accurate but it still measures trends, up or down.

i have a homedics one that i really like.... its white and pretty too so its not an eyesore in the bathroom and the digital reading is nice and big

Samantha417 03-01-2010 06:01 PM

I got this 10 dollar one at CVS. It's clear (so..don't put it in the way of the main walk way...everyone trips over it. oops!) and it's pretty accurate too!

rosekeet 03-01-2010 06:44 PM

I'm afraid if I buy myself a scale I won't have any motivation to actually go to WW meetings! There are some pretty nifty ones out there though...

I saw scales on sale at target the other day. I have one made by Taylor. It weighs to the tenth and does body fat% and has memory etc. I think I paid about $30 for it. I'm almost positive I saw it For $20 at target.

I love it.... I usually love it more when it moves in the right direction. ;)

I also have a WW digital scale; it's manufactured by Conair and just branded with WW logo, so I'm not sure it's the same one others have or a different one. I got it from Bed Bath and Beyond. I like that it shows me BMI right on the scale; don't have any excuse not to calculate it since it's already done!

diornotwar 03-01-2010 07:14 PM

homedics over here :)

beachlover86 03-01-2010 07:40 PM

I have a taylor one too. Sounds the same as feral's. Although i bought the breast cancer one. I love pink plus always support that cause, so why not make looking at it a little more enjoyable! lol...

But it is a good one, is consistent and accurate.

KurLEQ 03-01-2010 07:59 PM

I have a sunbeam one that my mom bought about 2 years ago. It is nothing fancy but it works.

ValentineNicole 03-01-2010 08:22 PM

Mine's a sunbeam one, too. I just bought it at Walmart yesterday for $8! It's a dial scale, but very accurate so far :)

Thousandsunny 03-01-2010 10:29 PM

I had a Taylor scale for like a day this past week, I bought it at Target and it weighed me 3 different weights each within minutes of each other. I made sure it was on a flat surface and everything and it didn't work worth a lick. I returned for a WW Conair scale and that seems to be workin' well but I still love my old-school dial monster-scale I have from college! They are side by side now, working in tandem, lol.

eratosthanes 03-01-2010 10:49 PM

We have a Taylor from Sam's, but it annoys me. Sometimes it will weigh me exactly the same several times in a row, but other times it has done things like add 1 1/2 lbs when all I did was eat a can of tuna (about five minutes ago) or tell me I gained 8 lbs. by using the bathroom and taking my clothes off.

eratosthanes 03-01-2010 10:50 PM

Why did that post twice?

IrishRose 03-02-2010 10:14 PM

I have to WW Conair one too! I've had it for about 6 months and it's been consistent, accurate and reliable.
I tried several models of the Taylor and have found them to be extremely inconsistent and they usually break on me after 3 months or so-- I am constantly moving my scale because my bathroom is a toilet and a shower baisically crammed into a closet--- so no floor space to keep a scale permanently.
I like the WW one, but I am considering upgrading to a Tanita one after all the good things I've heard about them.
