I try to follow a schedule, but the problem I end up having with that is that sometimes I know I should eat something even though I'm not hungry (like if it's 2 in the afternoon and I haven't eaten anything all day because it just hasn't occurred to me, then I know it's time to put some food in my body!) but as soon as I finish eating, then I feel like I'm starving! So what I'm trying to do is stick to a schedule that allows me to be eating either a meal or a snack every few hours, so even if I'm hungry I can just tell myself I don't have that long to wait until the next snack/meal. Because I'm sure I can't really be hungry when that happens, because before I ate I wasn't hungry at all!

I'm pretty good about staying on schedule. I eat my breakfast when I wake up (usually around 6 or 7 depending on my class/work schedule that day), I eat lunch at noon, and I eat dinner at 5. Since I eat an early dinner, I have an evening snack/dessert of a smoothie at 7. It's 200 cal (nofat yogurt, orange juice, berries, and a banana), so it's almost a fourth meal, really.
I do try to stay on schedule and not snack, because once I get my appetite going, I'm much more likely to keep going. I was never good at the 5 or 6 mini meals or even snacks. I need to have full meals 3 times a day. |
i eat when I'm hungry, attempting to stay within a semi-normal 3 meals, 1 snack method.
However, I normally have a breakfast snack at about 10am, lunch at 1pm, dinner around 6 and then another meal around 9...and go to bed about 1am. Not the best plan, I know, but its been my current routine, with the complete lack of structure in my day |
