burlesque anyone?
 

hey ladies, so i joined a burlesque class!
burlesque is all about feeling confident and beautiful in your body and embracing your curves. Its been fun so far. I even ordered a black corset!
anyone else take burlesque classes?

The mere fact that you're getting a corset for it makes it sound awesome to me, lol. I have a whole box full of corsets, I love 'em. (Makes the boyfriend happy, that's for sure, lol.)

Burlesque!!!

It's definitely on my to-do list. We have a local show called "Blue Light Burlesque" (http://www.bluelightburlesque.com/) too, which I always mean to catch. I really love classic burlesue, in the really decadent Moulin Rouge, topless and feather style ;)

It's definitely a curvy-confidence thing though I don't know how intensive it is.

Sounds exciting! I don't think they have anything like that in my area, but I would definitely try it out.

thus far i have been to one class. we are preforming a number for v day if i get up the courage. lol. the routine gets us moving for sure. we are using boas. it seems to be alot of fun so far. I was really worried that i would be the biggest girl and it would be a bunch of sticks in my class, thats not the case though, there are lots of curvy girls, its really refreshing.

there is going to be a pastie work shop where we will be learning how to spin tassels on our nipples... lol. I am kinda nervous about that, but it should be fun! i have a friend in the class who has taken two other sets of classes and she said its always a blast.

i am in calgary alberta, it seems like lots of cities have troops though you should check it out for sure.

I love love love burlesque and pin up girls and all things retro-- I just found out that they offer classes and pin up training and photo shoots in my area. As soon as I get a little money I am soooooo signing up!!!!

omg this post reminds me i was thinking about doing this a while ago!, there are videos on it which you can get from ann summers lol as i dont think there are classes in my area :-(

OMG! Haven't taken the classes but I've been to a couple shows! Hot Hot Hot!!! When I get down to a comfy weight a burlesque class sounds like something I am gonna def look into. Also can't wait to take some pin up shots. Fun Fun Fun!

I wish we had something like that where I live. Last weekend I watched A Wink and a Smile It is a documentary based on a burlesque class in Seatle. Very interesting stuff. I like burlesque becuase body shapes and sizes do not matter. Everyone is considered beautiful and those ladies have such confidence in themselves.

Does anyone know if they make a burlesque video or book or something? Because there aren't any classes anywhere near me (2 hours away!!) but I would TOTALLY love to learn at home!!

OMG so much fun!!! I just looked them up in my areal...and shock of all shocks Sacramento has a burlesque class!!! I'm so excited, they have a lil video that shows them doing one of the classes...not as scary as I thought.
