I know that exercise releases endorphins but do any of you actually notice it?? I Honestly am in the BEST mood when i leave the gym, I'm kinda neutral when im there but for a good 30-45 mins after I'm just in the best mood. And it's not because "i feel so healthy" it's just that i'm in a great mood. Anyone else have this effect?
When I first started running, I didn't. When I finally let myself go and just run, I get it now. For me it's not immediately after... maybe 20 minutes or so after I finish my runs. It's a crazy awesome thing though!!
I'm usually pretty happy after working out at the gym, but that's because I get to go home, lol.
If it's the treadmill, I just feel like finally I'm done. But if its a zumba class, or, better, a contra dance, which I find extremely fun (when I'm not nauseous) I feel satisfied at the end. Like, that was great, I had a lot of fun exerting myself. If that's what my endorphins feel like, then yay.
no, i don't think i feel any change in my mood. Except probably I feel lighter after all the sweat lol. Oh but obviously I am not in any bad mood after the work out for sure.
And yeah, probably "finally i'm done".
Hi,
Yeah, I really feel them. I would say in the first 2 wks of starting to work out..it was a struggle. Then just suddenly one day I started to feel really good whilst working out and afterwards. It just clicked. It makes me feel like I WANT to go on rather than I just have to lol.
Now, six months on, I'm addicted to it and look forward to working out. Which for me is a real shock!
Another thing which makes me feel good is that I can work out for longer periods than I did in the beginning. Makes me feel like I've achieved something.
I can't get enough of that high. What I don't understand is WHY is it so difficult to remember that feeling? You know when you're trying to decide whether to get to the gym or not... if I could just focus on that feeling I know I'll get then I'm sure I'd do way more exercise.
ABSOLUTELY. Even if I'm sick or having a really crappy day, or on TOM. Some days I really don't want to go but I know that if I do I will feel so much better, and 99x out of 100 I really do. I clench my jaw from stress really badly, and cardio completely releases all that tension and I just feel amazing, physically and emotionally. Especially when I'm running outside with music in the summer--I just get so happy to be alive
Definitely!
I find though that if my workout is cardio focused, I'm a lot happier and on an intense high (especially after running/jogging).
But if the workout is focused on strength training, than I just tired!
