  • Alright. So I had a dinner party last weekend, we were a bit tipsy and someone weighed themselves on my scale, said it was at least 3 or 4 pounds heavy. So I weighed myself on my roommates scale, and alas it was heavy. My scale said I was 123, hers said I was 119. I freaked out and I'm not sure why. I never wanted to be in the teens. I don't think I look like I'm in the teens. But coming from an ED background, maybe my perception is skewed? My friends say I'm to thin, my mom said she was a bit worried about me. I think I look just fine, I'm happy where I am!!! I need to tone up, but other wise I look just fine. Right?

    Opinions greatly appreciated.

First is now, took it today. Second is before (after loosing about 10 lbs already)

  • I think you look great now! I would say you are at the point where there's nothing left to lose... definitely not too thin (to me).
  • I think you look great! Definitely not too skinny, in my opinion.

The number is just a number - it's significantly less important than how you FEEL. You feel healthy at this weight, right? You're doing things in a healthy way to maintain it? Most maintainers find that their weight fluctuates within a certain range - so if you're trying for 120, you're bound to be in the 1-teens sometimes, and in the 120's sometimes.

I think the people close to you are just used to your higher weight, so this seems like a drastic change, and change always makes people uncomfortable. And, obviously, with an ED history, people are going to be hyper-conscious of what you weigh. I think the only way you can prove to them that you're doing this in a healthy and sound way is to keep living a healthy and sound life until they realize it!
  • You look great! You have curves people would kill for
  • I think you look great!
  • LOL--love the Christmas undies..hehehehhe
  • I think you look great!
  • I think you look great... I wish I looked like that, hopefully after a couple more months I will!!

Go by how you feel not by what others think.
  • you look AMAZING! not too thin at all!
  • I think you look just fine.... Healthy, for sure! I wouldn't go any further... if you lost more I think you'd look too skinny... but at this point you look great!
  • I think you look very slim yet you still have nice curves. I probably wouldn't lose any more (and it doesn't sound like you're planning on it!) but if I just met you, I definitely wouldn't call you too skinny. Slim and in shape? Absolutely. "Skinny" brings out visions of ribs and shoulder blades poking out sharply through the skin and I don't see that on you.

Keep in mind that I weigh 190 and my best friend keeps voicing concern that I'm too skinny. She's just accustomed to seeing me with an extra 50 pounds; maybe that's where your friends and family are coming from.

Oh, and don't be too freaked about the scale. It's possible that yours is right and the other one is wrong. Even so, you are the same person with the same body whether or not the measuring device says 119 or 123. They could both be wrong; maybe you really weigh 121!
  • I think you are a great size. You are not too thin. I think the new perception these days is skewed. People are so used to seeing overweight and obese people that when they see someone who is normal weight they think they are too thin. Now, there are some who are way too thin like some of the celebrities...but you look very healthy. I'm sure if you went to webmd or other sites to check your height and weight and body type you would find that you are in normal range.

BTW, moms always worry no matter what lol....I'm a mom so I understand this now! But, especially with your history, she is gonna worry more. However, maybe if you showed her the scale for normal body weight/height/type it may set her mind at ease!
  • I'm just gonna reiterate what everyone else has said. You look great!! I don't think you need to lose anymore, but definitely not too thin right now.
  • You look terrific and scales vary!
  • I think you look awesome! Definitely thin, trim and healthy, but not too thin! As others have said, people around you might just be shocked by the change and are looking out for you because of the ED thing. They'll get used to it in time.

    Congrats!
