What do you say when
So the other day a neighbor I don't really know complemented me on my weight loss, and then said that she needs to lose weight but "doesn't have the motivation to get out and run like you do."
I was overweight for a long time - and I don't think there's anything wrong with that - and I hate to think that my weight loss might make someone just like me feel bad.... What's the best way to respond in this situation? I just smiled and thanked her for the compliment. |
You did great. I might say,..."when the time is right you will now when and how....the motivation will come when you are ready." how's that ?

oops "you will know when and how" sorry

A simple thank you is enough.

Yeah, thank you is probably enough. Someone commented on my FB and asked "wow, where do you get the motivation get up and exercise?" My answer - its a daily struggle, I don't have any magic motivation pill. I fight with myself every day, but I go.

Your response was the best one.
