Master Your Metabolism

I was wondering if anyone has tried the Master Your Metabolism program by Jillian Michaels. I've seen her do a few interviews and it sounds pretty good but I like to get feedback before I invest in things. Anyone try it? See good results? Is it easy/inexpensive to do?

I've read the book, but have not done the diet. I really want to schedule an appt with an endocrinologist though to see what my general Dr. has missed in my blood work.

If people have't read it, it's a pretty decent book. The program is fairly simple. Mostly whole foods with minimal processing. My family already eats similarly because we follow a gluten free diet. GF food is mostly organic and whole foods.

I have read it and it changed my life! Seriously, I am NOT into gimmicks and quick fixes. Reading MYM made me do some research myself and I was SHOCKED as to what hubby and I were eating. We eat mostly organic foods now, avoid processed and enriched foods. I have lost about 10 lbs in 6 weeks. Which, although it doesn't sounds impressive, got me losing after a 7 month stall. So, I say try it! I found mine online at wal-mart for about $13! Or check your library! :)

I've read the book and her previous ones and MYM was my least favorite. Most of the information wasn't very useful to me because it got into a lot of detail about all the toxins in our every day lives and it ended up just making me paranoid. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Jillian and the book was very informative about all the toxins everywhere and what kinds of foods you should eat. I just found most of the advice to be not realistic for me because of price and distance I would have to travel to get most of the stuff. I even tried to go all organic and ended up spending over 200 dollars on 2 weeks of groceries where I would only spend 100 before. I also tried getting organic shampoos and lotions and what not but most of the hair stuff didn't do squat. I got me a thick head of naturally curly hair that NEEDS a good conditioner so I can get a brush through it. lol

But if you can do it I say go for it!
