Labor Day?
Have the 20 somethings started a Labor day challenge yet?
If not we should! I need some serious motivation right now!!!:( |

Labor Day is a holiday in the beginning of September. Maybe it's just an American thing? haha

I just recently came back to 3FC but I'm in! I'm hoping to hit 162 (about 13 pounds based on what the scale said today, but I'm not updating my ticker until my official "weigh day" on Wed).

Alright so a challenge is on! Post your goal that you'd like to hit by labor day - may it be a weight, a fitness goal, a pant size - whatever. We'll have weigh ins/progress checks on... Mondays? Post your weigh in here, and track your progress.

ooh i'm in, i could definitely use a kick in the butt, motivation is flagging. Or rather the motivation is there but the follow-through is not. I would like to be 130 by labour day (which we definitely have in Canada)- i think i'm around 142 at the moment....and finish c25k!!!The one goal is probably linked to the other one :dizzy:

My goal is to fit into some or all of my thin clothes! Any of them... they range from wearable-but-tight to can't-pull-them-up-past-my-knees. I have put them all in my closet since I'm pretty damn close to being able to wear almost everything... so I guess my goal is to fit in about half of them by Labor Day.
I also just want to lose as much weight as possible... I lose sooo slowly so maybe that's 1 lb but maybe it'll be 20 lbs... I have no clue. I start working half-days this week so I've got about 5 weeks with a lot of extra time. I plan to keep my calories around 1300 and work out A LOT... 1-2+ hours a day. Last time I did that the weight melted off... then my bday happened and the calories went way up and the exercising stopped. Time to get back on track! |

July 20: 131 I didn't loose anything this week :( I knew I wouldn't. I had red lobster, and I went out and had drinks 2 nights. Drinking is a big problem when it comes to weight loss, and I need to cut it out!!! Anyone have any challenges that are going to arise this week? My roommates will be out of town, so I'll be less encouraged to drink - so I'm looking forward to that. |
I'm traveling Tuesday and Wednesday, and having dinner out with relatives on Tuesday night. Fortunately I'm only going to Baltimore so I would be able to have breakfast and dinner at my place, but I'm wondering how hard it would be to bring baggies of cut up vegetables with me on my site visit...

My goals are to exercise regularly, eat around 1500 cals per day, drink 8 glasses of water per day, and not weigh myself until September 7th. |

Damn, I knew I wasn't going to lose anything. Not only was it my 21st this past Tuesday, but Sat was a friends birthday and I got smashed. But at least I didnt pack on too many pounds, right? Alright, new week, have to start calorie counting again. |

Two of my good friends are coming to visit this week (one friend) and into next week (the other friend). Eating might not be the absolute best, but we are going to be doing a lot of shopping...aka a lot of walking ;) Plus, next week, my friend and I are going to NYC for a couple days to celebrate our birthdays a bit late. So, there will be large amounts of walking then! So, some challenges coming up....but I am so excited for my friends to come visit, that I'll take them ;) LOL
July 20: 194 I'm still working off damage done at my friend's bachelorette party last weekend when I shot up like 5 pounds from alcohol, so it was nice to see the 194 on the scale...getting me closer to being out of the 190s! |
Stella Way to think ahead! Bring veggies, carrots are always good - they won't get icky either like some other veggies. Where are you going out to eat?

Okay. I lied. I want to weigh myself. Because...seeing 200 again really put my butt into prospective. I don't want to be 200 on my wedding day. THAT IS FOR SURE.

Ended up making a big fancy dinner for the boyfriend... bad day yesterday. I'm supposed to go out for drinks with a friend saturday night, so I'm a bit nervous about going over board.... eek.

Today I weighed in at 150. the first twenty pounds gone! (since Jan. 2009)
i'm trying to stay motivated to exercise but its so haaard! I don't want to do anything before i leave for work, then stand for eight hours. and i'm so tired and cranky when i get home. its a never ending cycle.... |
I lost 2 pounds! Which is definitely a lot better than I imagined. Earlier this last week (after my weigh in) I went out to eat a few times with a friend. Afterwards I felt sick and I told him that we can't keep doing this. The week before I didn't hardly eat out at all. And when I brought on so much unhealthy food at once that it made me feel pretty weak and sick. Then he said he was sorry. Hopefully it can be a different week this week. But I'm at least glad I went down. Good luck everybody :)

I weighed in today at 126. I was at 131 last week. SOOOO that's weird. It was TOM last week though, and I worked hard not to over eat and was really good about not drinking a lot when I went out! So hopefully this will last :)!!! |
Well for this week I ended up staying the same. I'm really getting sick of the 290's! But I really have no one to blame for that other than myself. This has been a very busy week which lead to pretty much hardly any exercise. Maybe a day or two. Also there were a few events with not the healthiest food and the weekend rolls around which is a little damaging. All I can do now is do better for next week. Gotta move on from the not so great week I had!

I'm joining in on this a little late. I'd like to be in the 150's by Labor Day. Right now I'm hovering between 164-166. Fun, fun. So, my goal will be 159! :)

FYI- lots of countries have Labor/Labour Day. But not everyone has it in Sept. Some countries (ie- Australia) have it on different days in different states (I learned this the hard way. Traveled to Adelaide on S.A.'s labour day and everything was closed! :( it wasn't our labour day back in Queensland)
Anyhow, American and Canadian Labour Day is Sept 7th. And I'm so in the challenge. I want to be at 252 lbs! |
can I join in?? I'd LOVE to be back to my goal weight of 140...this morning I was at 146 :-(...I know its soon gonna be TOM and hope that is why..I go to about 4 exercise classes a week (1 hr. long) of intense cardio...so perhaps its my eating! arghh...

Hey Everyone!
I need to jump on the wagon as well, I think a time-related goal may help to give an extra push. I'm going to make it a reachable 153.0 lb goal simply because I don't want to feel defeated. Really I just want to get under 155 as that marks my 100 lb loss! To get there I vow to stay on plan 6 days a week with one "cheat" day (or actually cheat meal) as well as drink all my water. September 1st is when I have chosen to start my running routine too, as I live in AZ and running outside is simply toooo hot in August. Good luck girls! |
I'll jump on this bandwagon. I really wanted to be at 150 by September 1st but I seem to have plateaued at 162 for the last couple of weeks... so I'm I'm going to set 155 as my goal (halfway there) for labour day but I would really like to get down a bit farther.
To get there I plan to keep doing No More Trouble Zones, and add in Burn Fat Boost Metabolism a couple of days each week. I also plan to stay on target calorie wise as much as possible. |
