Question Heart rate monitors?

Hey ladies (and gents?)!

So I had already begun the hint-dropping for a heart rate monitor for my birthday, which is in September. However, I unexpectedly received a $100 Wal-mart gift card as a "thank you for being my guestbook attendant at my wedding" present. So rather than waiting until September, I think I'm going to buy myself one now and bug the 'rents for something else (i.e. the Wii Fit, but that might be pushing it ).

I was looking at the Polar F4 Women's Heart Rate Monitor in Ice Blue ($89.95, so in my budget). I love the color and it looks like it has all the features I want/need. But being the paranoid chica I am, I wanted to ask: has anyone else had any good/bad experiences with this monitor? Or maybe you're in love with another one and care to share? Any advice or recomendations would be much appreciated!

Thanks for letting me know!

Impatience beat out paranoia. I bought it this morning, along with Jillian Micheal's "No More Trouble Zones" DVD (only $6 ). I can't wait for them to get here!

I think you will like it! The F4 was my first monitor and it was everything I needed to just get started. It lasted for two years before I finally upgraded to a F7 for my birthday. Have fun!
