call me crazy..

call me crazy but im thinking about bringing my scale on vacation with me! i like to step on the scale every couple of days to make sure that i am on track. My family goes camping every summer for a week in traverse city, mi. i dont want to skip a weigh in so im planning on weighing-in up there, i already found a location and im really proud of myself for not taking a break. It will be easy to diet up there because breakfast is always cereal or my dad makes eggs and sausage (ill skip sausage). and lunch is sandwhichs and im packing some 100 cal packs for snacks. and i already preplanned the dinners! taco salad, chicken-potato foil dinners, hot dogs (turkey dogs on bread) , hamburgers (on lite bread), and one night we go out to dinner. and ill have no problem skipping smores cuz i never liked them anyways!

what does everyone else do while on vacation? do you skip meetings and weigh-ins? do you continue to count points? has anyone went to a different WW center to weigh-in?

That is so cute :) I would say do whatever you feel you need to do to keep you happy. If the scale doesnt make you go loopy then pack it!

I spent 3 months holidaying in the USA last year and did not weigh once and kept the weight off just by going by the feel of my skinnyjeans. When they were snug I just pulled it back a notch. I also found that while on holiday the old habits of just sitting and eating (which are easy to get into when at home and bored/stresses etc for me) just werent there bcos I was more active and happy so that seemed to balance out the fact that I was eating all sorts of things that I normally would not.

This has been a good reminder for me that I can be moderate . . . so thankies for your post :)

ps. Have a great break! :)

Last year I went away on a month long trip where I would be staying in hotels and eating out every meal---scared the wits out of me! But I ate very carefully and actually came back less than the weight I went with.

You can do it without the scale... but if it makes you comfortable, bring it.

Cherry - I am actually writing from the airport where I am waiting for my flight, and guess what? Scale is packed in my carry-on luggage. I'm going to be gone for a month (doing grad school course work) and I need the daily weigh in to be accountable. No shame in taking it if it will keep you on track!
