Default Swimsuit season....

It's swimsuit season as you guys all know and i am thinking of wearing a bikini. I am a size 12 and i wonder if that is okay. I have a sister who is the same size but refuses to wear one. I have confidence but because she won't wear one i am afraid i might be too big. My husband says that i look great and that it is okay to show some skin. He actually thinks i look sexy and can't wait to be on the beach with me. I guess i want to know if you ladies would wear one. Or would you be safe and just wear a one piece?

My friend and I were both about size 12s and I wore bikinis and she didn't. She recently lost around 40lbs and is now a size 8, and STILL won't wear a bikini. In other words, your friend's decision probably has very little to do with an "objective" view about what size is "too big" for a bikini, so you should just go with what's comfortable to you. I think it's great that you have enough confidence to go out there and rock it...a lot of ppl don't, no matter what their size.

I second what forestroad said. As i myself wouldn't wear a bikini either. (tankini is fine though ).
So choose what is comfortable for you (besides, your DH loves it )

If you feel comfortable in it that you should go for it. I wish I had the confidence to wear one.

If you feel fine then go ahead. It doesn't matter what she does.

Psht. Wear it if you're comfortable in it. I'm a size 14 and all my bathing suits are bikinis. I was at the pool the the other day and this random guy came up to me and he was like, I want you to know, you look SO hot, then he walked away. I think its all about confidence. Work it girl

LOL! Thank you everyone! I am just so happy i have lost weight and i am proud of it. This will be the first time i have ever worn a bikini. It's funny because when i was smaller i would have never thought to wear one. Confidence is a great thing.

I'm with the other girls, wear it. It's about confidence. I promised my DH I would wear one this summer (mostly as a thanks to him for putting up with the dieting). I'm a 14 and I'm proud to be in one.

Go for it. I don't like wearing one because I am so pasty white, I practically glow. I also have trouble finding one I like. I hate those little bitty numbers with just strings--not enough to hold the girls up!

if you want to wear a bikini - WEAR one!! Enjoy it, be happy! If I had the confidence to wear one, I would. I would love to come to a point in my life where I could wear one with confidence, no matter what I weighed.

Size 12 is beautiful :-)

I wish I could walk outside in a bikini without it becoming the worst day of my life. I say, if you feel hot enough to rock it, by all means.
I'm thinking about a board shorts/bikini top combo this year...I still have lots to lose of my thighs. :/
