149.6 lbs today!! Since it's just this one day, I'm definitely not going to say that I'm officially "out of the 150s" yet, BUT I am officially at GOAL! Yay!

Hi, I just joined and I'm also stuck in 155-land, wanting to get to 135 eventually. My biggest problem is overeating...I get that you can technically eat whatever you want as long as you do it in moderation. However, that's my problem: a little bit of something I want doesn't satisfy me...often I want to stuff myself with the food. Does anyone else have this issue? How do you avoid it?

Welcome Amy!
Nice to have you.
I have the same problem sometimes. Here are some ways I combat it (and an example to illustrate):
1) If I know I wont be able to stop, I don't start. LOL. Its easier to resist something if the flavors of it is not already swimming in my mouth. For example, if I go to a meeting thats only going to have pizza, I don't even take a slice. Because once I have a slice I have to have 4 (I know, sounds horrible). So I go in with something with a finite controlled portion (like a homemade sandwich or a bowl of pasta), and no pizza for me.
2)I fill up on veggies first. My stomach can only hold so much- so if its mostly full of lettuce, when I go to the meeting, I'll force one slice of pizza (or maybe two) and then I can't have any more because I am stuffed!
3) There is absolutely nothing "binge-able" in my apartment! Trust me, that goes a long way. Sometimes I sit in my room and seriously think about what junk food is there to consume. I rack my options over and over again, but alas, there is no junk, or anything unhealthy that I enjoy eating a lot of. I could go on a salad binge if I want (LOL), but thats highly unlikely, don't you think? LOL.
4) If I buy takeout, I portion or half, put it in a plate, and then stick the other half in the freezer. That way I don't eat the whole oversized serving. Most restaurants serve enough food for two! If you are actually at a restaurant, you can ask the waiter to bring out a carryout container with your entree, and immediately put half your entree in the carryout. Once its in there, trust me, you won't eat it! It would be too embarrassing! LOL.
Those are some of the strategies I use for portion control. Nothing original- you here these tips (and more) over and over on 3FC. Best of luck! Yay for the 140s!

Hiiiii, welcome to my woooorld!!!
I'm 155 right now, and 155 is... not good for me. From 155 to 150, there is a difference of several inches. At 150, my clothes fit me better, I FEEL better, my face looks less round... 5 lbs... such a small number makes such a huge difference. And I'm ready to kick that 5 lbs' butt!
MER:
Way to go honey, I'm so proud of you! My god, you astound me regularly. New pics, ASAP! Goal pics!
The last three days I've consistently weighed myself in the mid 150s, so I think I can join this thread from the 160s...woo! I was hovering at about 160/161 for a couple of weeks, then last week started a big push and here I am That is pretty much my weight loss MO...have maybe one good week a month where I drop about 4lbs, and plateau for the rest of the month till I have my next drop. I get a little worried bc losing 4lbs in a week doesn't seem that healthy, and I worry about it coming right back on, but my average for the month still looks moderate and I've been losing since March, so I guess I"m doing okay.
150 is a benchmark for me because it is where my BMI enters the healthy range My goal is to be out of the 150s by Labor Day!
148.6 lbs today, and thanks so much, girls!! You all are so awesome. As for pics, I just mentioned this on the "Weigh In: Gain or Loss?" thread, so sorry if I'm repeating myself, but YES I will definitely be posting my goal pics/story very soon! I just got back from college a couple days ago and have not unpacked ANY of my stuff yet (plus I still need to clean my room, LOL) but once I've gotten a little more settled in, pics will most certainly be posted... Y'all know that I never say "no" to an opportunity to ham it up in some self-portraits, hehe!
LOL, story of my life (our lives!), dude... But if you were around 152 lbs without the PMS bloat, I don't think aiming for the 140s by early July is unrealistic at all. Good luck!!
