My Goals Long and Short- what are yours?

  • I decided I can't succeed at this weight loss journey unless I have it in writing. I keep changing the goals, and they aren't written down so no one knows but me when they aren't met

    Here we go:
    175 by March 31st
    170 by April 30th
    160 by May 31st
    155 by June 30th
    150 by July 31st
    145 by August 18th----my birthday

    I was orginally going to try to end at 135 and that is my ultimate goal still, but I wanted a realistic goal for my birthday.

    What do you all think? And what are your goals for this summer? or for the next year? Let's get to it
  • Angeline - I try to go for 5 lbs a month too! Our goals are very similar

    A big one for me is getting toward my lowest adult weight of 151.4, and I'd love to break that by the time I start grad school (July 7). I don't want to start a new life in a new city with new people and be the fat girl from the getgo. However, my pace has slowed a bit (dang St. Patty's!) so this is my current rate:

    March 31: 170
    April 30: 165
    May 31: 160
    June 30: 155
    July 7: 151.4

    Holy mole I need to step it up! NO MORE BINGEING and NO MORE BOOZE! and, NO MORE SKIPPING THE GYM!!!!

    April 2: 183.0

    April 9: 181.0

    May 1: 178

    June 4: 172

    July 2: 167

    August 6: 162 (this is actually below my goal but what they hey)

    August 31: At goal and maintaining for at least three weeks

  • My one goal is to be a pretty good weight for my 21st birthday. It's a huge bday for me since I am planning on going to Atlantic City with my family and friends and I don't want my day to revolve around how my donut of a stomach looks in those jeans. I'm not going to put a number on it because that just upsets me when I don't get to that number even more. Just a realistic weight that I feel comfortable in.
  • Angeline, this is so perfect for me right now. I was just thinking last night that I need to really set goals otherwise I'm going to be so quick to let myself slide. Are you going to be giving yourself any rewards as you meet your small goals? I was thinking about doing that also. Anyways here are my goals:

    March 30( Britney Spears Concert)- 198

    May 31(No Doubt Concert)- 185

    June 30- 180

    July 31- 175

    August 31(Dad's Bday)- 169

    I think I'll just leave it at that for now. I can't think that far in advance lol, but my final goal is 135.

    I hadn't thought about setting rewards, but that's a great incentive! And I'm a goal/reward kind of girl....

    what should I give myself... a massage sounds nice.... and shopping trip.... hmmm.... I'll have to think about what I really want!
  • I seem to always be Shifty McGee when it comes to dates... so it really is a good idea to write it down considering I'm running out of time. Here goes:

    March 31: 176 <- reward: hearty pat on the back
    April 27: 170 <- reward: sexy jeans!
    May 25: 165 <- reward: shorts
    June 27: 160 <- reward: sexy beach pics! and oodles of confidence.

    And I second the NO BOOZE... if it wasn't for that, I would already be at goal I bet! bugger.

    175 by March 31st--- 30 min massage
    170 by April 30th--- new shoes- I can’t buy new ones till then either!
    160 by May 31st--- $50 to spend at Target on myself
    155 by June 30th--- a couple’s massage with the hubby
    150 by July 31st--- a two piece swimsuit!!!!
    145 by August 18th----my birthday--- a coach bag (doubles as my hubby’s b-day present to me)

    177 - July 16th (my birthday!)

    These are my goals from now until the end of August. I am hoping that I can be around 140-150 by the end of this year.

    I know I'm so super excited about those concerts. Don't laugh at me but those are going to be my first concerts ever and I'm 21!! Every time I tell someone that they freak out.

    A massage sounds fantastic. I actually had my first one on my 21st bday!

    4/1- 175... New candles - I'm obsessed

    5/1 - 168... New running shoes

    6/1 - 161... Get my wedding dress!

    7/1 - 154... New workout clothes

    8/1 - 147... Start yoga classes by my new apt (moving in Aug)

    9/1 - 140... Some new clothes!!!

    10/1 - 135... More yoga classes

    11/1 - 130... Maybe a weekend somewhere fun

    12/1 - 125... New Wardrobe!

    1/1 - Still 125... firm up and count down the days until my honeymoon

    2/1 - same as above... shop for bikinis and new clothes!

    3/1 - Get ready for the honeymoon! (Not sure where it'll be yet - but tropical!)

  • Hmm.. Goals... I dunno where I begin!

    I've been around 210 for the last few days... No idea what Rewards I'm after!!
    Definately new clothes around the 180-190 range!!

  • I am so ready to hit my ultimate goal. I am determined to reach it by the end of June. My actual mini goals are listed in my signature. I'm in saving mode for my trip to Scotland, so I don't really have any rewards planned (well except for the trip, which is sort of my ultimate reward).
