Is this a bad idea?? Do any of you do this??

OK so i thought for modivation purposes that i would place some of my "skinny" pics from 2002 around the house when i weighed about 160-170 pounds. I thought maybe this would keep me in line more so that i can see what i am working towards in stead of just telling myself what i am working towards..

Does this sound like a bad idea? Does it sounds totally dumb? i just kinda came up with it last night laying in bed. Does anyone here do that and if so does it help you remember what you are striving for?

Thanks so much!!

it's a great idea! I do that! I also keep my size 10 goal jeans that I used to fit in before I had my baby hanging on the outside of my closet door as a reminder of my goal!

I think that seems like a great idea. :carrot: I might even try that :)

no..its a fab idea...i've heard its good to put one on the fridge too..hehe..I find that looking at people's before/after pics worked so well for me! On Facebook there are some weight watcher groups and people had tons of pics posted!

I think that's a great idea! I tried putting up pictures of celebrities once but it ended up being discouraging, because in the back of my mind I kept thinking, "It doesn't matter how much weight I lose, I will NEVER look like that!" But actual pictures of yourself at a point you've been at before and know you can get to again? That should be very inspiring! :)

You betcha it is a great idea!! I kept a pic of me on the fridge, by the handle, at eye level....

I do it. I have a picture from about 10 years ago when I weighed about 60 pounds less. Beside it I have a picture from last summer at Disney World. I want to remind myself of where I was last summer and where I want to be next summer

I have a picture of myself when I was 16 and 160 lbs on my treadmill, definitely smaller than I am now and it keeps me running!

I have done this...it has sort of worked for me....they are actually sort of small pics so maybe I need to enlarge them. One thing is when people see them, they are amazed and compliment on how I looked. So that motivates me too!!!

Excellent idea !

I also do this. I have one on my fridge and one on my desk at work. It keeps me on track when I feel like giving up.

Shannon1983 04-27-2009 01:22 PM

I am so glad that you all think this is a good Idea... I really do think this will work. I will let you know how it turns out over the next month..

Hey, I do just the opposite. I do not have even ONE pic of me up in my house after weightloss. I have pics of me at my highest weights everywhere. I say, whatever works!

bananapancakes 04-27-2009 01:48 PM

This method helped me to stay on track- I say stick those pictures all over, whatever inspires you!. I also have a piece of paper posted on the fridge that says "NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING THIN AND HEALTHY FEELS." I also posted my half marathon training schedule on the wall next to the fridge. Leave yourself little post it note reminders about staying on track :)
