Wow! Your boy is tiny! Mine is a healthy 6 feet, 180 lbs of muscle.:D I don't understand where he puts all the junk that he eats. He doesn't seem to have any issues with "maintenance"... although it could be because he was originally a very skinny guy, and only gained weight when he had back surgery and couldn't get out of bed for several months, so he's reverting to his original state more than making a new one...

I'm just finishing my junior year.... one more year left!! What about you?

freakiel 04-29-2009 07:41 PM

I'm finishing up my junior year here. On an off note, one of my good friends from high school goes to St. John's. I'm sure this is a shot in the dark but do you know (Cha)Zaq Llinas?

Rowenna 04-29-2009 07:44 PM

I don't know him personally (he's a freshman) but I definitely know of him. It's a small school, hard to miss anyone.

freakiel 04-29-2009 07:46 PM

Haha, yeah he's a freshman. And a nutcase. We were friends in high school. Sweet kid though.

Rowenna - where in WI? I'm from Madison. My bf also put on weight after a surgery, except he's only lost a few pounds. All his weight is in his belly. Your bf gets to eat more cos his body burns more.

freakiel - I wish I had trouble gaining, I would stuff my face all day! I wonder if those having trouble gaining have actually tried that (eat fattening foods all day). I always imagine them as not really enjoying foods.

stellarosa27 04-29-2009 09:27 PM

I'll join up :)

All of my roommates are thin guys. 3 of them are in the 150 lb range, their height just varies (6'1, 5'10 and 5'7). They're the same way - they work out to gain weight, not to lose weight.

It is SO obnoxious to see them stuff their faces with steak while I'm sitting here with a grilled chicken breast and fresh veggies. I hope, for their sakes, their metabolism stays like that for years.

UWPiPhiAngel 04-29-2009 09:32 PM

Yes, it's very dangerous. Most likely that kind of eating habit will catch up with them later in life.

I'm from just outside of Milwaukee (Germantown).

I responded to this thread a few days ago--good to see that it has popped up again.

If anyone is still interested in the team idea....I was thinking we could just start a thread in weight loss support under a team name. Any suggestions?

Any ideas? I had a thought--maybe Team Tara. Tara is a goddess of self mastery and she is used to find the strength and stillness within.

Anyway, if anyone is interested let me know, and I can start up the thread. As always, I am open to any suggestions--I just though we needed someone to take the lead a little.

Looks like it's you! Go ahead and make the thread! I'll be there!

Just let me know where, and I'm there!

UWPiPhiAngel 04-29-2009 10:06 PM

LOL I thought you meant Tara from The Biggest Loser. Now she is strong!!

I'm interested. I need a accountability partner. I find it difficult to exercise and eat right when I'm stressed out from school.

craftykath 04-29-2009 10:14 PM

I could really use an accountability partner too. I'd definitely join the team.

Riverite 04-29-2009 11:12 PM

I started a thread in Support Groups: Team Tara ‘Eve of April’ Chat

If you would like to check in daily for accountability, please drop by.
