New, and slightly... lost?

Hello everyone, I'm a 21 year old British student who's recently started her own weightloss journey. With a start weight of 182lbs and standing at 5'4 I'm sadly classed as obese and want to change, I have a goal weight of 120lbs:carrot:. I was just wondering if anyone could give me a few tips as I don't seem to have lost any weight on the scales after 2 weeks and I don't know what to do:?:!!

I'm currently eating between 1200 and 1500 calories a day and going to the gym 4 to 5 times a week. At the gym I do 20minutes on the treadmill walking at a fast pace, then 20minutes on the cross trainer and finally 20minutes on a recliner bike, while I'm on the bike I use 2lb free weights to do different exercises just with my arms. I know the weights aren't very heavy but the next heaviest weight they have in the gym is 6lbs and I can barely do 5reps with them :( I do work hard in the gym and break a good sweat but I just don't know why I haven't lost any weight... Surely I should have lost something by now??

Thanks :) x x x

Hi Secret! welcome to 3FC :) We are roughly the same height and have around about the same starting weight! So cool :D

Looking at what you are doing, you would think that you would hae seen some change....how are you counting calories? Are you guessing or are you beign quite accurate? when you're at the gym does your heart rate get up?

Hiya!

I'm using FitDay to count calories, don't know if you've heard of it??
At the gym my heart rate does go up, its around 135 on the treadmill, 180 on the cross trainer and 150 on the bike.

hello, i too am around the same kind of age and looking to loose a similar amount, can i buddy up?!

I am going to be starting out again tomorrow after a good few months off, I'm going to cycle for half an hour and run/walk for half an hour on the treadmill. I shall hopefully go for a half hour hill walk at lunch time and return home to do a fitness dvd and maybe some more cycling.

Does this seem like too much exercise too quick? I want the weight gone as quick as it possibly can so I am hitting turbo!

hmm thats unusual then....I have heard of fitday, but does it log how much sodium is in your food? Maybe you're taking in a fair amount of salt that's disguising your fat loss :?:
