"back in the day"Facebook

Don't you hate when people post horrible photos on facebook from years ago? If you were an awkward teen.. or I don't know, maybe a hundred or so pounds overweight? God. You can untag them, you can unfriend the people who post them, but they are still out there!!

sprklemajik 03-28-2009 10:58 AM

My least favorite thing in the world.... Hate that.

Haha...my theory is that we ALL go through our awkward/ugly duckling phases at some point in our lives! So I don't really mind those pics when they pop up. :)

HeatherMcG 03-28-2009 04:37 PM

^^ Agreed. Its not my favorite thing to happen. But when it does, eh. Oh Well! At least I don't look like that anymore!

i think it's hysterical. one of my friends from middle school posted some marching band photos of me the other day. they are ridiculous, i look awful, and yet i am not untagging myself. i was 12, therefore, i looked like an idiot.

LindseyLouWho 03-28-2009 06:14 PM

Haha, well, all I tell myself is "Thank goodness I improved!". It's a great opportunity to pat yourself on the back for recovering from your awkward/ugly duckling phase... haha.

LandonsBaby 03-28-2009 06:51 PM

I don't mind anyone posting old pictures of me, it's the new ones. My SIL insists on posting the most HIDEOUS, FAT, DISGUSTING pictures of me. It drives me nuts. And it's weird because clearly you can see it's an awful picture. I would not do that to her so I'm not sure why she does it to me.

iriswhispers 03-28-2009 08:36 PM

There are some less than flattering pictures of me floating around on the internet... ugh. Oh well, I know I am looking better now and I have to just be happy about that!

SwimGirl 03-28-2009 10:00 PM

I have the reverse thing happening, my old school pictures are when I was nearly 100 pounds LIGHTER and I think I looked better. These days I don't really pop up in too many pictures.. but I sure hope to when I get down to goal!

uh oh ~ don't even mention it :(
i looked HORRIBLE in jr.high - seriously - horrible.
Yet my mother still say everyday "no those pictures are cute - i like them - hang them around the house" - And she did hang them around our house - and i have to see them everyday - not to mention my friends seeing them when they come to my house - omg.

SweetScrumptious 03-29-2009 02:29 AM

Yah I hate them too... I've kept some of pictures of me at my biggest weight tagged (ones that I do not look fairly horrible in)... but the really unflattering ones.. UNTAGGED

My parents have a really big picture frame up in the rec room. There is 18 pictures, 1 for every year until I graduated from school (kinda like a picture visual of how I grew over the years). I just love how I was smallish in grade 3 and then next year, in grade 4, I ballooned! I'm really embarrassed by those pictures most of all and I hate inviting new people over because the majority of people make comments on it... arg :(

futuresurferchick 03-29-2009 11:16 AM

I believe in a basic rule: If the picture predates facebook, it should NOT be on facebook!! Of course, that's because all my old pics are soooo horrible. Some of my so-called friends have posted them and it annoys me so much! They are all untagged but they're still out there, forever!

sweet_talker 03-29-2009 07:50 PM

Hahah...thankfully I have very few pictures from when I was at my highest weight or in the awkward stages of middle school so I'm pretty much off the hook. Makes it hard to find a good "before" shot though, because of the few pictures I had of myself at that weight I deleted most.

graciegoose13 03-31-2009 05:53 PM

funny you should mention this, it just happened to me the other day. One of my friends posted a picture of me back in the day when I didn't even dare step on the scale because I knew the number would be too scary (on top of that it, happened to be my awkward 8th/9th grade years--double whammy!) Part of me doesn't mind the pictures being up there because it reminds me how far I've come, but then there's another part of me that screams, "OH GOOD LORD!" haha!

sm177 04-01-2009 10:47 AM

I hate this too! I also plead with my friends not to post old/ugly pictures of me but obviously they do anyways. There must be hundreds of pictures of me on facebook but I only tag the decent ones ie. I have 8 pictures tagged lol
