Soda
When I started my weight loss journey three weeks ago, I quit drinking soda. I initially thought that it was going to be really hard (I am a big Diet Coke junkie). However, I am finiding that I don't miss it at all. I have only been drinking water these past three weeks. I do have milk with my cereal and a cup of tea at night.
I think that cutting the soda out of my diet has really helped me. Anyone else out there cut out soda from their diet? How are you doing without drinking it? |
I cut soda out too. I was the same. Pepsi max was my crack lol. I used to drink almost a litre of it every day. So gross. I drank it a few weeks ago and it was horrible I was bloated and gassy (tmi I know) for a day or 2. Not worth it.
I've also found that I've become less bloated, My stomach looks a lot better!! All I drink these days is water and tea! And the occasional juice or coffee but thats pretty rare! Such a great decision to make. Congrats! |
I don't drink soda at all regular or diet. I drink alot of water sometimes tea, lemonade, oj, milk, and light grapefruit juice. I think not drinkin soda helps with losing weight as well.

I quit drinking sodas in the middle of January. I don't miss it at all and I feel so much better.
Good luck! |
Ugh, in the past I have given it up, and found that just like you guys I started not even liking it and felt better for cutting it out, but when I got pregnant I wanted mountain dew allll the time, and now for some reason I just can't seem to kick it, I keep trying and caving...it's just soooo good. [but I know if I could quit I would start not liking it again lol]

I cut out regular pepsi in January, every once in awhile I get a taste for it but haven't succumbed to the craving. I do have 1 diet ginger ale a day.
|
I was also a diet pepsi junkie, I used to drink a 2liter a day no joke and would even get cranky when I didn't have it. I cut it out about a week ago and now only drink water and skim milk. I thought I would be craving it like crazy by now but I've been fine. I think it will definatly help with my weight loss.

I cut sodas over a year ago...and between that time have lost about 30lbs. (Along with watching what I eat and exercising regularly..) but I don't get that bloated feeling anymore unless I overeat or if it's TOM.
I can't stand sodas anymore! |
I found cutting soda helps with my weight loss and food cravings. I try to replace it with tea, but now i just drink to much tea. Agh.
|
I love coke! Buuuut! I gave it up! I slip up here and there, but most of the time I avoid it. I haven't noticed any weight loss, or less cravings from stopping having it. The calories alone just aren't worth it!

I cut out pepsi about 10 yrs ago because at that time I was keeping up with my big brother and drinking at least 4-6 cans a day. The reason I quit? I heard that I could lose weight by eliminating it and because I saw how it could dissolve a nail and figured it was probably best that it not be inside me.
It's one of the best things I ever did for my body. I don't like pop whatsoever nowadays and only drink water, 1 cup of coffee/day, and green/black tea. (although there are days that I drink diet coke as a mixer with rum/vodka just to save on calories. But even then I really don't like the taste and it doesn't exactly make me feel good with all the fake sugars) |
I don't miss it at all. I went from regular soda, to a couple weeks of diet, to water. I do add crystal light but those are too sweet for me so I use one packet for a 32oz instead. But to be completely honest, I don't miss soda at all, and I feel a lot less bloated after a meal with water.

My addiction was Diet Dr. Pepper. I haven't had one in about 2 weeks, although I was tempted to get one yesterday as a "reward." I didn't cave however. I used to drink upto 24 oz. a day a few years ago. I finally cut it out completely because I figured all that fake sugar and acid can't be good for me. I sometimes slip back to having it when I fall off the wagon, but I stick to seltzer water when I crave carbonation. Otherwise for a regular day, I drink water, skim milk, tea & coffee made with a lot of skim milk, and orange juice.

I drank a lot of diet coke and pepsi. For the last 3 weeks or so, I'm working on slowly cutting it out. I get really bad caffine withdrawal head aches if i try to go too long with out any, and i don't like coffee. I've managed to get it down to 12oz once every other day. Soon i'll make it every 3 days.
|
I'm quitting diet coke after I finish the 12 pack I have (because just throwing it away would be a waste).
|
I hardly drink pop [sorry, gotta be Canadian here, haha] anymore. I have a Diet Pepsi on a blue moon, right before work on a night shift so I have the quick caffeine fix to keep me awake - if I'm being too lazy to make tea or coffee.
I'm a diet pop drinker too and when I cut back, I didn't find it too difficult. I grabbed other choices like juice, water, or tea to hold me back. I do have one every so often when I'm craving Ice Tea of something. |
Dt. Coke was my thing! I gave it up for Lent. It was super hard at first but the cravings ceased after a little while. I have only drank 2 since Lent ended. I used to drink 3-4 cans a day and that doesn't include the large dt coke from Chic Fil A that I thought I had to have at work each day!

I gave up soda (or coke, as they're all called in Texas), a few years ago, before I even thought about losing weight. Turns out I have really weak enamel on my teeth, and my 40+ ounce of Dr Pepper a day diet was tearing them up even faster. So I stopped cold turkey. I very rarely have a sip of a soft drink these days...
|
I cut regular soda out a few years ago, over the past few months I cut the diet out. It's really more for my weak teeth than dieting purposes. I enjoy my water quite a bit anyway!
|
I like soda. I drink soda. I usually have one or two cans a week. I guess since I never drank it growing up, I don't have any special connections to it.
|
Im a diet mt dew girl.One a day is all I need.LOL!
|
I gave up diet coke the same day I gave up smoking (Jan 1st) because diet coke was not only a trigger for me to smoke it was a trigger for me to crave salty food.
You can do it! It had almost been 4 months for me and I just placed it with water on top of my regular coffee, tea and fat free milk. |
I crave soda in random spurts. So, it's never been difficult to stop drinking it. I've just restarted my weight loss and will not drink soda until further notice. Drinking water, tea, and seltzer are great alternatives. I usually carry my water bottle everywhere. This helps me avoid the 'need' for soda.
