ah, weekends...

...you are the death of my diet.

Friday, wine (a lot) led to kraft dinner. Saturday, feeling guilty and had too much time on my hands. Too much random snacking. Cookies. Evening, out at Chinese karaoke, rye & gingerale, spring rolls, egg roll, sauce.

I'm committing now to not drinking at all this week, next weekend, or the weekdays after. Almost 2 weeks. :^: I think that's as far as I can commit to this goal right now.

Maddie89 03-22-2009 01:50 PM

I hear ya girl!

I had a disasterous weekend foodwise!! I just snack because I'm bored. Bad bad bad!

In an attempt to redeem myself today I went and spent more money then I should on good wholesome food!!

Heres to a clean slate!

kalikat003 03-23-2009 08:59 AM

*hands up to the bad weekend!*
I was out of town and tried to eat healthy.. but it didn't work. I only gained .4 lbs, so it isnt that bad.. but still lol

lixximajig 03-23-2009 09:23 AM

Argh! I'm with all of you! It was my ex-classmate's 21st and like every other birthday party, they'll call a caterer that has relatively good but really unhealthy food! I have two servings of fried rice and curry, way more than I would normally!

My only consolation was I only had one piece of toast for lunch.

ladyrider72472 03-23-2009 09:38 AM

I am with you all. I don't know why I think weekends are a free for all, but I have for the past couple ones. It starts out with a bad Friday lunch and goes from there. To top it off..... most of the time it is without exercise. I have GOT TO STOP THIS!

Thanks for the support and letting me know I am not alone in this.

BAHH bad start to my monday. I slept in , couldn't sleep last night, and now I don't have time for the gym. I'm definitely doing power sculpt tonight.

I'm annoyed i didn't get to the gym though I was really pumped for it!!

HybridRainbows 03-23-2009 10:56 AM

I know what you guys mean. It's easy for me to plan my meals and stick to a set regime during the week, but on the weekends it's so much harder. My boyfriend and I enjoy going out to eat with friends and going to movies, and it's always really tough to not over eat. I usually end up feeling guilty after a weekend goes by because I eat things that I wouldn't think about at all during to week. I think that this is likely going to be the hardest thing for me to break.

MtnChic 03-23-2009 11:34 AM

Yeah weekends are the worst ;) My big problems on the weekends are breakfast in the a.m. and booze in the p.m. My husband always wants to make these big breakfasts/brunches on Saturday and Sunday. And yeah, all the ingredients are healthy... but it's still 3X what I'd normally eat in the morning. And then, who can really say no to a few drinks on Friday night lol.

Petunia418 03-23-2009 12:01 PM

I'm with you guys! For some reason, Long Island iced teas seemed like a good idea this weekend. And after a Long Island, ANYTHING seems like a good idea if you know what I mean!

It's a new week!

prepping 03-23-2009 01:21 PM

I was just talking about this in the BL thread... this is what I had to say to my team this morning after finding that I was up 5.6 lbs from last monday:

Now to show that I am by no means innocent, here's a collection of my finer moments of the week. ***WARNING please do not try this at home***
Saturday March 14th: copious amounts of beer
St. Pattys Mar 16th: copious amounts of beer + wings w/dill dip @ 1am
Saturday March 21st: wine + beer + 4 shots + cheesecake + sausage rolls @ 2?am
Sunday March 22nd: chips + chocolate + pretzels + 1/2 Litre red wine

Do I EVER know what all of you are talking about!!! These are the promises that I've made to myself for the next 3 months....
- for all the events that are happening in the next 3 months, I will limit myself to 2 drinks per occasion. And I will ensure they fit into my calories for the day
- no more than 1 drink for normal days and fit into calories
- no chips and chocolate allowed in the house. Wish me luck in trying to enforce this on my fiance.
- 30 minutes a day (at the very least) of activity that breaks a sweat.

I don't know what else to do at this point! I think my scale has forgotten how to shift the numbers down. :dizzy:

We can do it people! I think I'll check in here next weekend with an update on how successful this week goes. :p

MtnChic 03-23-2009 01:39 PM

LOL preppingbride, that sounds eerily like my weekend two weeks ago... mainly due to out of town guests who think that things like "spaghetti squash" and "6 oz portions" are an abomination. Sooo my weekend consisted of beer, vinyard hopping, more beer, stuffed french toast, breakfast meats, wings, french fries, and oh, did I mention beer? LOL

We'll have to be on our best behaviour so:)

PeatrixPotter 03-23-2009 06:31 PM

I had to quit drinking because of this--well that and other reasons lol. If I started drinking, my diet went out the window!

Same. That and having a social life. Pfft - who knew. Hah, all about balance I suppose.

LitaScarlett 03-23-2009 06:43 PM

The weekends aren't that bad except that my parents always take my son and me out for dinner on the weekends. But I tried to make up for it when I ate at home, at least. :-s
