so i've been in a rut and can't seem to loose any weight no matter what i tried...so i decided i need to exercise some more so i was finally going to suck it up and by a gym pass. i was all pumped and ready to go wheeeen i dropped a desk on my foot and broke it in 3 places. which also caused me to have an awful few days of eating cuz i have needed comfort. and i've pretty much gained back the weight i lost all january in the last three days. oh and im a photography student in the last week of school (all the projects are due) and let me tell you being in a dark room on crutches is not fun. yay love life.
I'm sorry to hear your story! I fractured my foot just before Christmas and was in a cast for 6 weeks so I kind of feel your pain. I was in the middle of training for a half-marathon and couldn't exercise anymore so I was depressed and ate; I definitely gained some of the pounds I'm trying to lose now. Keep your head up--and think of the extra calories you are burning holding yourself up on crutches! And good luck with all of your projects this week!
That really sucks. It's only funny in that "life screws you every time" kind of way. Which I guess is pretty funny. Seriously, the gods are laughing at you today, so what can you do but laugh too? Seems like you have a great attitude about it, and it's true you have a story to tell now!
Something similar happened to my dbf's cousin. She had announced to us one day that she was starting the gym the following Monday......on Sunday she fell on her butt and broke her tailbone...no gym for 6 months.
