tkm, I'm not being "down on shelters". I'm just saying I know this animal is going to a loving home instead of a cramped kennel with an unknown future. I understand shelters do their best. And I'm absolutely disgusted at puppy mills. But in this case, no puppy mill is involved; my friend originally saved their dog from a shelter, not a pet store.

If I was able to save every animal from going to a shelter, I would.

And good news! My friend that's adopting Paisley met her today and totally fell in love! So by the next week or two she goes to her new home! :) And what's even greater is that both of my friends know each other...so one gains a new family member and the other can check up on her and know how she's doing. :)

Thanks Thinpossible, I just noticed this response about Bear. He's part lab part chow, and completely fuzzy and adorable. That picture is from when he was tiny, and now he's a year old and 80 pounds. He's my favorite guy ever.

That's amazing!! Shelter doggies make the best pets ever!! I have two shelter babies, and they are the best ever! I just wish we had a fenced in yard that they could run around in. On the left is Piper, she's three and is a Boston Terrier/Chihuahua mix and on the right is Buddy Muttzen, he's six months and a Poodle/Terrier mix. (20 pounds and 7 pounds respectively) They are so spoiled!!
