I WISH working out made me lose weight!! I can way more easily motivate myself to work out than to put the cookie down!!

And my friend was running 10 miles to train for a marathon and she didnt lose weight. When she controlled her diet AND worked out, she lost 20lbs.

My cousin who is skinny, GAINED weight when she worked out. Her b/f at the time was a personal trainer and told her if she wanted to lose weight, she'd have to combine her work outs with diet (she ate VERY badly).

Yes, it can be different for everyone, but for the vast majority, it's 80/20, otherwise it'd be 3fatchicksonaworkoutplan.com!!

Yup. I don't know if it's that exercise increases your hunger level or what, but there are a lot of people who GAIN while training for a marathon, and I'm one of them ;)

Diet is about 95% of it for me. I love working out, I could work out all day every day and be completely happy. I'd probably lose some inches, which is important, but I realize that if I want to hit my goal then I need to keep working out AND track what I eat.

Exercise alone is no match for my love of food :D

When one has over 100 lbs to lose, we're talking about a whole other ball game. Adding in some additional exercise - nuh -uh, just ain't gonna cut it.
I have only about 10-15 to lose and exercise still doesn't cut it. For me, it's more like diet-99%. exercise-1%. Which is not a bad thing since I hate exercise with a fiery passion.

Ahh yeah… honestly I kinda agree with you on that 👍

For me too, diet made the biggest difference. I used to think working out harder would fix everything, but mm… I noticed if my eating wasn’t balanced, the scale barely moved even after long workouts. Exercise definitely helps with toning and not looking flabby like you said — but fat loss itself mostly came from what was happening inside my metabolism.

One thing I started learning recently is that sometimes it’s not just calories or workouts… it’s how efficiently the body is actually burning energy.

Like… have you ever noticed 👉
  • eating less but weight still stuck?
  • energy crashing mid-day?
  • cravings showing up even when you’re trying to stay disciplined?
I had that phase after my mid-30s and it confused me a lot 😅

I started reading about thermogenesis and how certain natural compounds from orange peel (Seville orange) can support metabolism activity. Apparently the peel contains compounds that help the body use stored fat more efficiently instead of just slowing down during dieting.

Ahh I’m not big into extreme supplements or anything, but I came across a citrus-based formula explanation on metabolismregen dot com that talks about how orange peel extracts may help support metabolism alongside diet — not replace it.
