I find that brown basmati rice has much less of that chewy/healthfood texture/flavor than plain old brown rice. I really love it.

DH loved the stir fry tonight. I even used the lite soy sauce (which I hate), but he practically licked the plate clean! :)

Stir fry is my favorite way to use up all the leftover veggies in the fridge before they go bad. I throw in onion, green pepper, broccoli, edamame, snow peas, mushrooms, chicken or steak, carrots and cook it all in a big skillet.
Throw it over some brown rice and i'm done. I sometimes use the birds eye brown rice you can microwave , but typically i just use the uncle ben's brown rice that you cook for five min, then let sit for five min, its fairly easy. Top with lite soy sauce. Yummy, i think i might eat that for lunch tomorrow. |
NO MICROWAVE RICE!
Get a rice cooker, it is only $25 at Target. Don't get Carolina rice or Goya brand rice, those stuff have no flavor. Get basmati or jasmin brown rice, they have more flavor and better texture. |
