retaining water -- and not TOM! :(
during TOM i always retain some water - i can actually feel it and it's most identifiable in my hands and fingers (my ring that i always wear that's usually loose gets unbearably tight). well TOM has come and gone (about a week ago) and my hands still feel puffy and tight. i lost a lb this week (and 11 in the past month), so i know it's not caused by weight gain. maybe it's my salt intake or something? that's the only thing i can think of. any ideas, suggestions to make it better?

I was wondering something similar because I too am dealing with this!!
Ill be checking back to see if anyone has any suggestions. |
just keep your water intake high and dont add salt to flavor. Most things you eat have enough salt that body needs already. It may take a couple of days but just check the sodium labels on things that you are eating and it should flush out.

If it's really bothering you, you may want to keep track of your sodium for a few days to make sure you aren't eating too much of it. Or, at least, keep high-sodium things like lunch meat, frozen meals, canned soups, restaurant food, etc to a minimum.
And, of course, to echo Blcarter... drink LOTS of water, even if you don't feel like it (I usually don't when I'm bloated). |
it usually takes a week to 2 weeks for me to get back to pre-TOM weight.

Me too jahjah! At least it is this month. Same thing all the girls said: limit sodium & down the water. I know it stinks. My water fluctuates all day & I can only tell because my wedding rings either spin or are super tight. Sucks being a girl sometimes!

What does TOM stand for? I keep seeing it and googled it and nothing came up.
EDIT: haha I'm a dork, just figured it out. NM! |
