Is this Normal

Okay so I just started OP last Sunday after all the holidays, so It has been a little over a week now. When I weighed myself on Sunday I weighed 243lbs and today alittle over a week the scale says I am already down to 235lbs. Is that Normal? or Healthy? I am counting my calories, cut out all white bread and pasta and replaced it with wheat and eating lots of veggies and fruit no fried foods, fast food, or junk food. I have also been Jillians 30 day shred and Yoga. In the past I have done diet like Atkins and lost weight fast but always gained it back. So I decided this time I was going to do it the right way, the healthy way by watching was I eat and how much and exercising. But I am still losing it fast. I know they say the more you have to lose the faster it comes off at first and maybe thats what my body is doing. I am only 5'0 and my ideal body weight by my doctor is 118 so I very much overweight medically. My goal for now is just to be 140lbs then I will decide where I will be comfortable at.Do you think this is normal though? I am about to be on TOM too in the next few days and though I would be retaining water soon but I don't seem to be at all.

yeah i wouldnt be worried about it at all. your body is just flushing out excess water. it'll even itself out. but stick with it, and congrats. you are doing amazing!!!

You're doing great! Keep it up. As long as you are eating the recommended daily amount, you are fine. When you first start out & have a lot to lose, you usually drop fast for a while, and then it will start to slow down. Don't worry - you're doing great!

Congrats on the loss!!!! I think you are just fine with what you are doing. Keep it up!!

I second what everyone else here has said. You see the biggest lose initially due to water weight.

Keep it up! :)

Also once it slows down don't get discouraged. It's easy to stay motivated when losing 5+ pounds a week. The real mental battle begins when it drops to 1 or 2. Sometimes none.

Not to be a debbie downer or anything. I just remember when my loss slowed, thats when i felt like throwing in the towel.

I am at this stage and I am frustrated, because now I have to do more than just eat right. Ugh, but as I have seen on someone sig, "Losing weight is not for sissies" and I am no sissy.

Oh my gosh, you look amazing. How long did it take to reach your goal?
