First of all. Have you seen this? It may help just knowing you are not alone in dealing with unwanted attention.

Secondly, I'm so sorry you don't feel safe. Ask about guards. The school should want to make you feel safe. Address your concerns with them, they should be able to find someone to escort you to your car.

I know what you mean! I'm not as small as you and I still feel really vulnerable. My bf is an average sized guy, 6'1, and I asked him to teach me some martial arts moves, and he doesn't even try and I can't get away! I think learning some self defense might be a good idea. In the meantime I've perfected a mean 'don't mess with me' face when I'm out by myself lol.

I know what you mean about the unwanted attention......I was so unused to ANY until I lost some weight...Last summer when I didn't have a vehicle I'd walk to/from work each day (about 25mins one way) anyways one morning I was walking to work at 7am and a guy in a company van shouted something out at me...I should've called the company (just a local grocery store) and reported him but didn't know if i should...then another guy on a motorcycle went by and beeped his horn....this was enough to give me a scare. I gave up walking to work so early. The funny thing is that I wasn't "strutting" it or wearing anything skanky...I work in a preschool so just regular capris/hoodie is the usual.

It's the same thing when out to clubs..just gets so sickening being hit on. One guy grabbed my *** and I told him off.

I'd suggest doing some self defense classes or TRYING to get some mase or something. I've even thought of carrying a pocket knife..I'm not sure if it's allowed but heck if someone tried to attack me I wouldn't think twice of using it.

Well you're losing the weight for yourself and your own health, right? It isn't worth it to give that up because of idiots who act this way. Just have to find a way to keep yourself safe. Maybe you could ask other girls in your school that you get to know if they have any advice?

When I was in college, they had a number you could call and an escort would come. I had night classes and was afraid to go across campus sometimes by myself that late.

Also, if you go to your student center and ask to speak to a counselor, they might be able to recommend some techniques for dealing with guys or even get you into a self-defense class.

And do report guys who misbehave. If there aren't consequences, how else can we improve society for all women?
