Default A new way to watch TV

Okay so maybe not NEW but this was an awesome experience...

Tonight watching the Biggest Loser premiere, I decided to work out during the commercial breaks. I based my exercises off the 30 Day Shred.

For my exercises I decided to take each commercial break and do one specific kind of work out- so the first commercial break I did abs. I used ab exercises from the 30DS, from all levels. Just whatever one I felt like, I did it! I switched exercises each commercial. Those commercial breaks are LONG, I had no idea!! It felt so god though.

Then the next commercial break I did cardio- I did every other commercial doing jumping jacks and the rest I did knee raises or butt kicks.

Then strength- I did pushups, lunges & squats. It was SO rewarding and so fun.

I actually worked out almost every other commercial break because there were so many and I kept having to pee! (I drank a ton water, too!)

Anyway it was so fun, and I feel great, so anyone else want to change the way you watch TV with me?!!

Good for you! Reminds me of an oceanography professor I had, he said he has an exercise bike and ONLY watches TV while on the bike.

Recently I started making myself at least do something small like arm curls or pushups during commercials, I keep my weights in front of the TV to remind me. Doesn't always work though.

Good about the water too. I need to start carrying around a water bottle with me again, I have slipped up and was drinking regular soda for a while there and I need to go back to something healthier (and without the calories!).

I like to sit on my ball during tv shows and do crunches or push ups during commercials. I also keep my 5 pound hand weights by my couch and use those for arm exercises while I'm just sitting there.

And I know how you feel about the water. I drank 3 32oz bottles yesterday and felt like I lived in the bathroom. My body will be used to it in a week or so again and it will be fine but right now I feel like I neeed to move my desk in there.

That's a great idea!

Think I'll try to start doing various exercises while watching tv myself. Even if it's only walking at a good pace on the treadmill or using a stability ball to sit on.
