I'm not a mom but I just wanted to say you ladies are awesome. I don't know how you do what you do. When I have children I hope to be as motivated as you all are to maintaining healthy habits. I'm inspired.

I'm Kristen. I'm 26 and my son will be 2 next month. Its sooo hard to exercise with him awake since he has to be attached to me all the time. The only time I can find to workout is around 9 pm. Its all worth it though

any of you ladies have any tips on potty training boys? My son is 2 and half and he has done peepee on the potty a few times but I am finding it hard to get him into a routine and getting him to tell me that he needs to go.

And I haven't even started with #2 yet.

I found it really easy to do in the summer time. It is warmer so they can run around naked. I just set the potty in the room that we were in and let Jarek run around, we had a few accidents but I just took him to the potty after each accident and he caught on pretty quickly!! HTH! Good luck!

How is everyone this morning? I felt like a rotisserie chicken last night (nursing/cosleeping) but thankfully DF let me sleep in until 9:30am. Love him!!

Here is a question for everyone, what types of things does your family do together as exercise?

This summer after Owen turns 1 I am going to invest in a bike for me (and hopefully DF!) and a trailer for the boys. I read you shouldn't go bike riding with infants under 1 because of the jarring, so that is why I am waiting. Hopefully my big butt will be smaller and sitting on a bike will be more comfortable by then.

Hi Everyone...
I'm Vicky, I'll be the big 3-0 in 10 days, but I don't think you'll fault me for that! I am the mommy to a 13 month old girl, Madeline.

Things here are ok right now, I was laid off from work right before Thanksgiving and I found that being at home allowed me to snack all day long. It's hard to juggle a baby, trying to find a job, and trying to lose weight and exercise all at the same time. My husband is very supportive, but I know he's tired when he gets home from work, so finding time for me to work out is difficult. Maddie sleeps twice a day, but her schedule is so off. Usually during her first nap, I'm cleaning up the house, and the second nap, I barely have time to take a shower and have lunch. Any tricks that you use? I can't exercise with her awake, separation anxiety and the fact that she gets into EVERYTHING.

By the time she's out for the night, I'm exhausted. I guess I'm just going to have to suck it up and start getting up extra early.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Hi Vicky! Welcome!

Maybe you could put her in her highchair with a favorite snack while you do some quick rep's and a video? Like others have said here, when possible (aka my children comply) I try to work out with them awake so they know what healthy people do IYKWIM. Otherwise I start as SOON as I lay my DS's down. Sometimes the house is a little dirty at the end of the day, but I know I need to make to make time for me too.

In the summer we bike with a trailer attached. It is tough pulling one kid i'm scared to try now that i have two!
I also do a lot of videos and my kids will sometimes join in. Its so cute watching my two year old do squats, and repeat jillian We also do a lot of walks in the summer. Its so hard in the winter to really excercise as a family , not much to do inside. I'm already ready for it to warm up !

Your idea of biking sounds great! I haven't biked in such a long time. Since before I was pregnant and DD is now 7 months. My husband and I used to hit the trails on our mountain bikes all the time.

My husband and I are trying to get into the routine of going to the gym together and taking DD to the daycare there right after work. Once I am back in shape and am running again I will probably have DH and DD follow me on the bike while I hit up the jogging trail.
