Oh and a bit about me I guess. I'm 18, turning 19 in febuary. I started gaining weight at the age of 6 and never stopped. This is pretty much my first and only real attempt at losing weight, because I've never wanted it until now. I go to school full time, monday-friday and am currently looking for a job.

I don't know!! the chart kind of scares me senseless... as for tapes, like everyone else on this forum I love the 30 day shred with jillian michaels. I also just picked up a bunch of the other biggest loser work outs which I'm going to try out! beyond that, I'm definitely open to other suggestions for what works for you all... I ate take out tonight (mm chinese food) but I skipped the rice and walked home to try and make up for it. fingers crossed!

I don't really understand the charts either. I like that we are being active but I like measuring the weight loss better. It is more fun I think but I am not about to be in charge and try to calculate everyone's weight loss percentages!
Anyway, I like to do the 30DS if I can squeeze it in.. I usually alternate b/w the treadmill and tae bo. I hope our thread can get more active.. I love chatting about this stuff! |
jessicat and bakabeth i totally agree about the charts, it scares me senseless too!!! i think calculating the weight loss would be more fun! and beautifulace! welcome! lol i was wondering where some of our team members were! anyway i need to pick up the 30 day shred. apparently a lot of people have good luck with them. does anyone know where i can get them? about how much it costs? and i can not be the person in charge of calculating all the weights! im horrible with that kind of stuff. plus i have only seen bits and pieces of BL so i dont know how it works, and when i read about it, i just get more confused. anyway we do probably need to pick someone who would be willing to do it. any volunteers? oh well i hope that we do become very active and become good friends, i think my weigh in on monday will be great for the team, thats why i like this, lol i have all of you relying on me to do well. im trying to do better by calculating every calorie, lean quisines are soooooooooooooooooooooo tasty! and easy to calculate. i hope someone figures out how to use the charts. i cant wait till the end of this challenge and look back to see how much i have lost, its going to be exciting...lets just say there is going to be a massive shopping spree for me! what are you all most excited about when you get to your goal weight? mine is to be able to shop at abercrombie and express and not feel huge, i would love to stand there and say with my nose stuck up in there air.."this thing SWALLOWS me!" LOL what about you all?
|
You can get 30DS at target or wal-mart. It cost me under $10. I don't want to be team captain, but who does?
I am looking forward to feeling sexy for my BF and maybe buying some sexy lingerie and wearing it for him! hehe! I also want to be able to strut along the beach in my teeny bikini and feel great b/c I know I look great. Mostly I am just looking forward to the feeling! yay! |
hey everyone :) i just joined the team!!! and im soo excited!!!!
ill introduce myself a little... im 19 years old and im a student in univesity :) and i just lost 65 pounds from the summer so im really happy to be part of the challenge and lose even more weight!!! GO TEAM DRAGON!!!! :) :carrot: |
morning everyone!! If no one wants to be captain, I'm happy to do it, although I'm definitely not dying to do it :) let me know! I say for our own team, we calculate weight loss too. the more to encourage and motivate us, the better!
For me, I'm working by the beach this summer and I would love to be comfortable in a bathing suit! Also, I really want to adopt healthy habits before I get any older, and it becomes even harder.. So question to get us all chatting: what are your major weaknesses? or your kryptonite? For me, it is take out. I don't like sweet stuff, not a big fan of chocolate but I love love take out of any kind, particularly if it is asian and fried. mmmmm. with soy sauce. and chopsticks. and rice. |
bakabeth~ my kryptonite is definitely pasta. I love Italian food and have a really hard time limiting myself with anything that involves tomato sauce.
I would like to look decent in my bridesmaids dress this summer, but am really aiming to break into onederland this summer. A lot of stress for me right now as I have been sick for a few months now and have graduated into having numerous blood tests, X-Rays and MRIs. I have no idea what is going on yet as there are no results yet, so I'm struggling a bit with staying on task... I'm really going to need everyone's help. I'm willing to volunteer for team captain if no one else wants it. If someone else wants it, we could maybe share it to decrease the work... up to you guys... |
Hi everyone! Well, I don't really fancy being team captain, mainly because of the time difference and that I travel a lot with work so probably wouldn't always be around to carry out my duties :)
As far as my motivation goes, I'd like to stand in front of a full length mirror in a clothes store and think 'I look good!' rather than getting a glimpse of myself and jumping out the way so I don't have to look at it or make innocent bystanders see two of me :D My weaknesses at the moment are similar to yours bakabeth. I'm more of a savoury person. Sometimes I'll crave the odd bit of chocolate but in general it's pizza, chips with cheese, cheese on toast, cheese on crackers, cheese on a fork, cheese on cheese and just plain ol' :cheese: Bread's in there somewhere too...I love it! Oh, and spicy fried squid from the Japanese place in town. Yum! |
my weakness is candy...of any kind, from chocolate to hard candy to chewy. i have to really control my self. lol and fantastic idea bakabeth!!!!! about calculating the weight loss as well!!! i know it will help me. welcome to the lil late comer!, back to the weakness thing, i feel that i too sometimes just want to go crazy and want to eat delivery pizza or chinesse and then im hooked, i can eat a lot if i think im "dying" but i have yet to find a way to control it. what do you all use to control those crazy cravings?
|
I'm planning on contacting Arthwen about how to track everyone's progress, etc., clarify how to read the charts, etc.
No one has objected to my being team captain yet, if there is some objections, please let me know and I will pass on the info I gather to whomever everyone would like as captain... To control my cravings I try to either not keep any pasta in the apartment, if I have some, it's either wheat or whole grain, and I portion out the whole box into baggies the moment I get it. |
Kim I think you will be a great captain!
Hi everyone, Sorry I am so late I am super busy finishing my PhD and working full time. I am So excited I love challenges, I am super competitive so being on a team really motivates me. My biggest vice is cheese and stress eating. But I love to work out and do so as much as possible. I am now trying to increase how much weight training I do. I am addicted to my elliptical. I can't wait to get to know know all of you better GO TEAM DRAGON!! |
If you haven't weighed in yet, please do so in the weigh-in thread so I can start keeping track of weight also. We're focusing on activities, but are keeping track of weights as well so we can see how much our activities boost our weight loss.
I need weights specifically from: Hiimnatalie bakabeth wfonseca3017 onestar hotmamacitax2 JRockSoldier If you already posted, just let me know and I'll look again Also, start creating your list of activities you have done this week. You can do as many as 5 different activities (which go in place of Activity #1, Activity #2, etc. on your charts), need to be a minimum of 30 minutes long. You do not have to actually type your activities in the chart, just please include a list of your activities, coinciding with the number activity you used it as, when you send me your chart. I'll try to get an example up either tonight or tomorrow. I'm probably being confusing, but I'm not trying to be... but I probably am... Thank you! |
I'm weighing in at 201, unfortunately the holidays were brutal. Do we have to have five different activities? Or can we do one activity five times? its too cold for most things outdoors right now!
|
Thank you Kim for volunteering to be captain. These charts are confusing! Thanks for making an example for us! I am sure it will help us a lot!
I loove the idea of us keeping track of our weights. I like that our thread is more active and it is fun reading about everyone! My vice is sweets.. anything chocolate, especially chocolate bars and ice cream and cookies. I am currently on a Sugar Free kick, meaning no sweets but I can have fruit, yogurt, breads, etc. If I can stay away from Sugar totally it is just so much easier. I read somewhere on this board that "the fourth cookie is harder to resist than the first" which is sooo true. I am trying a new activity tonight and I am kind of nervous. One of my resolutions this year was to start ballroom dancing classes. I am going tonight in about an hour. Ballroom dancing looks so fun and it is a fantastic work out! Wish me luck! |
