Water question.

I sometimes mix my water with Crystal light or propel .. is it the same as drinking water? or do i still have to drink water on its own?

My short answer: almost all liquids "count." However, many people disagree, and you'll find a lot of different answers to that question. It's been discussed and debated here alot. If you search on water and crystal light you'll find alot of those threads.

If you search on water intoxication you'll also find alot of threads in which I gave my long answer (my mother was hospitalized with water intoxication or water poisoning because she wasn't "counting" her milk or coffee as water).

I count my Cyrstal Light consumption as water. My body responses to it as water. Like kaplods said you may get different responses but I can only speak for myself. I usually only drink water..no soda or juice. Crystal Light gives me variety. I drink 64 -96 ounces of "pure" water and an additional 32 ounces of Crystal Light. The Crystal Light goes through my body like water (it's water with added flavor).

I do Weight Watchers and with the momentum plan they just changed it to needing 6-8 oz. glasses of water to 6-8oz glasses of fluids per day so I would say is that the crystal light and propel count toward your daily water intake :) I count it because I get bored with the plain water and need a little flavor to mix it up!

fluid consumption comes from lots of places. fruits and vegetables, and other foods also can count into your daily fluid consumption
