Christmas plans?
Boy this forum is slow this week!! :)
What is everyone doing? We are staying here at our home, having Christmas eve dinner tomorrow night and then a roast dinner on Christmas day. No family coming, just my hubby, me & our little girl. Should be a good cozy christmas. :) You?! |
Low key first Christmas in Canada, just visits from family and the customary huge buffet meal. I'm looking forward to my first boxing day as well apparently the deals are black friday like.
|
We were supposed to go with my aunt and cousins to Disneyland, but it looks like it's going to rain so we might just have dinner at my aunt's house.
|
So what exactly IS boxing day? :)
NJOY- Do a lot of people go to Disney for Christmas?! I feel bad for the people who have to work there! HAHA |
I have been battling temptation all week....
but sticking to it, not eaten off plan.... just hope the scales reflect it.... went out with bf for his xmas party last nite.... ate some mushrooms in garlic sauce, limited myself to 8.... had 3 slices of turkey, 7 sprouts and two table spoons of peas and carrot mix.... i avoided desert!.... does that constitute to doing well?.... i have been trying to keep active due to not being at work.... i so know i am going to gain some weight, but i dont want it to be an awful amount as i love my body the way it is now!.... successfully managed to ice the christmas cake and make the chocolate log without nibbling or licking fingers.... woooop go me!.... 2mora is going to be a normal days eat for me.... xmas day i will wake up to bran flakes.... try to avoid the snacks (biscuits) before lunch and eat a very controlled and normal meal (turkey, boiled pots, boiled sprouts and boiled beans with no pudding).... avoiding the rest of the sweets/chocs will be the challenge then.... tea will be pimps.... |
As for it being slow this week...consider it the lull before the "New Years Resolution" storm.
I'm going to be with my family on Christmas day, then with my family-in-law the day after. |
Amanda, that was EXACTLY what I was thinking! :)
I have to keep checking in here or I will fall off that wagon for sure. :) So my daughter just put a crayon in our baseboard heater. our whole house smells like a crayola factory... ew. hahahahaha i have to figure out how to clean that up! |
Not much going on for us this year ... we traveled for T-day, so we decided to stay home for Christmas. We're making tamales like we always do ... pork, chicken, cheese/jalepeno, cheese/bean :T .... Yeah, yikes!
Hope all of you have a very merry Christmas, and a happy new year! |

It's my first Christmas as a "Mrs". We've spent every Christmas together for the past 4 years so you would think it wouldn't be different, but it is. His family is coming into town tonight. For Christmas Eve we're eating homemade chili at our apartment and watching Christmas Vacation after the Christmas Eve Service. Since we live in a 1 bedroom apartment and don't have a dinner table, we have dinner reservations at the Hyatt for xmas day. |
I am leaving town right after work (in one hour) and we're going to bunk up at a hotel in Oklahoma city tonight and continue our 17 hour car trip tomorrow morning. We're finally taking our 16 month old son to see my husband's family. I feel incredibly guilty that only my mother-in-law has seen him but they live so freakin far away!
We're hoping and crossing our fingers that we can avoid most of the nasty ice in the next few days. |
Very low, family get together at my mamaw's house down the street. Finger food etc. I am going to try and make some WW finger stuff so I can eat more than I normally would be able too. I am going to bring my Wii and set it up at my Mamaw's so hopefully some of us won't be bored to death before eating and opening gifts.

Happy HOlidays! :) |
Spending the morning with my parents after my sister and I drive down there tonight to surprise them. This was going to be the first year they have spent without family around but we both wangled it so that we could be there after all.
They have no idea. It's gonna be great. Then about 2pm ish I'm heading back to Canberra so I can be home in time to have a low-key Christmas dinner with my partner. Boxing day we are having a "Christmas" dinner with my partner's siblings. |

We are going to my SO's Mother and Fathers tomorrow for dinner and then to my parents on Christmas day for dinner! They both live fairly close so we wont be traveling too much!

This year instead of gifts my boyfriend and I are planning dates. He'll plan Christmas and I'll plan New Year's. So far I know we'll go to a restaurant and see a movie on Christmas. I planned like 6 things to do between NYE and NY Day so he said he would think of more for Christmas.
This is my first Christmas away from my family. I'm not sad, but it does feel kind of weird. The last 3 Christmas have been weird, actually, I worked two in a row and the one before I was living on the East Coast and didn't get home until close to midnight on Christmas Day. But I always saw my whole family sometime during Christmas week and it's the first time that won't happen. Also, being in a foreign country is weird. There's WAYYYY less consumerism here so it almost seems like they don't celebrate Christmas in Korea.. but they do, just not as dramatically. Also my first Christmas with no snow! I'd like it more if it wasn't so COLD. It wasn't the snow I hated, it was the COLD! |
My family is having a hard time getting together. I visited my dads side of the family Sunday because my uncle was in town from Memphis. I was supposed to go get my bf so that he wouldn't have to spend Christmas alone, but the weather got bad. For his sake I hope I can make it up there to get him tomorrow. My mom has a new bf, one of his daughter's names is Kelly. I know its rude and selfish but it irritates me.. I just wanna be like "this is why you don't blend families!". Whenever we figure out when christmas is going to be for our group it'll be the first time my brother and I have spent time with the new guy's kids. It shall be interesting considering in HS his oldest daughter HATED me. I don't know why, gotta love them haters. To add to that her bf says the "n" world ALL THE TIME. I never say anything because honestly, to each his own, but if he says it around my bf there WILL be an issue. Stupid rednecks.

Just chillin' with the fam and eating some food. It is our first Christmas married so we are going to have to make the rounds to everyone's houses.
I have an 8 yr old brother so Christmas is still a really fun time in our family. Lots of other little ones are cousins so Santa Clause is still alive and well. Actually, he visits are home every Christmas Eve before leaving on the big trip for pictures and to say Hi! :hohoho: I wonder what list I'll be on this year? ;) |
joyra- that sounds really sweet to do dates instead of gifts. that's really cute. have fun for your first foreign christmas!!! :)
kelli32- ooh that n word bugs me SO much, i hope he doesn't say it around your BF!!! what a jerk. good luck, i totally understand why you'd be irritated with her name being kelly. that is just annoying. haha, sorry girl. hope you have a good christmas regardless!! so you and your bf are doing good? heather mcg- our first married christmas was so hard, it was my first christmas away from my family, i cried the whole time, hahahahaha! this is now our 3rd christmas and we still have never gone home, now I can't imagine it any other way. but that first christmas was really special, i got to see what a good comforter my hubby is hahaha i don't think he'd ever seen me cry like that up until that time. it was pretty rough! :) |
i came back home to the states for xmas. and it kinda sucks already. i'm excited to get back to montreal, just not for the snow.
we wont do much, my family is weird. but i hope to see some friends and other family in the time im here. i did go to florida last week w my bf though, which was awesome. |
stellart- FLORIDA sounds amazing right now!! :) haha

This year was supposed to be our year in the USA with my family, but we couldn't afford the tickets or time off work.
We spent all of xmas day with my SO's parents and his nan, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, food was excellent. I don't have any other plans except to sit inside until my infection clears up, so I can start regulating my blood sugar again! :( |
