Unhappy New member looking for support

Hi just found this site today, and think it is the perfect thing to help get me through this weigh loss journey. I am 27 married with 1 daughter. It took me 6 years to get pregnant, I was on a significant number of hormones that ruined my body. Now I need to get my life back. I work night shifts as a nurse in a very stressful pediatric intensive care unit which doesn't help me lose weight. I need to change my eating habbits so that I don't pass them onto my daughter, like my mother did to me. I have had physicians tell me it is no use and that I would end up having gastric surgery to lose the weight, I just can't believe that. I know I can do it I have to. Sorry for the sob story, just I feel like I am at the end of my rope.

You better than most know that doctors don't know everything. You can do it, no matter the obstacles currently in your way. Starting with small changes and being consistent you can definitely get your life back. This place has tons of great info on all sorts of different plans. I have no doubt that with a little reading you will be able to find things you can incorporate into your life to improve your health. Keep us posted on your progress and welcome.

welcome!!! You've come to the right place!! I am new here myself but already am incredibly inspired by the wonderful people here and their varied successes! I have had experience on another support board in the past and find these are great when you find a great group like this Don't let your doctor discourage you!! You CAN do this! Just remember one step at a time..start of with smaller goals so it doens't feel so overwhelming..take it 5 or 10lbs at a time if that helps. However you decide to do it, we're cheering you on
