I use a scoop of whey protein every morning in a fruit smoothie for breakfast (milk, yogurt, banana, frozen strawberries - blueberries-raspberries-cherries, sometimes frozen pineapple). I also sometimes have half a scoop in oj or chocolate milk in the evenings or after workouts. I find it also gives me something filling to prevent the snacking later in the evening. I use it as an addition to my breakfast, not a replacement for breakfast - my smoothie is typically 420-430 calories, the whey is only 120 of it. I don't think I would do a whey protein shake as a meal replacement, even if I was still in active weight loss. I don't believe the one I have has enough calories or other things in it to be appropriate for that. DH has one that has some added 'body building blend' that might be able to be used as a meal replacement shake, but I don't know. Would have to look at it more closely.
