Inspiring Music?

Hey everyone, I'm looking to fill my ipod with some upbeat and inspiring songs. I need something that will get me moving at the gym and also good songs to listen to to cheer me up when I'm down so I don't do any emotional eating.

What do you listen to while working out/when you need a mood boost etc? Any advice?

wow, i can give you hundreds but i need to know your taste a little, is there any absolute no nos? anything you love/hate?!

I workout to gangsta rap. 50 cent, Lloyd Banks, G-unit, Dj Kahled

There's nothing like AC-DC Thunderstruck or hells bells to get you pumped up for a workout. Or, Fort Minor.

I usually check out the billboard 100 charts to see whats new and DL it to see if I like it.

I listen to Chumbawamba and Scissor Sisters a lot when running or working out.

I have an eclectic blend on my workout playlist all geared for high energy. I have found that the pace of the music seems to unconsciously set my workout pace. Here is an example of a partial playlist

Pink - So What (pop)
Coming to your City - Big & Rich (country)
Paralyzer - Finger Eleven (alternative rock)
Maneater - Nelli Furtado (pop)
Cult of Personality - Living Color (80's or 90's rock can't remember which)
Disturbia - Rihanna (pop)
Kerosene - Miranda Lambert (country)
Run It - Chris Brown (Hip Hop)
Sexyback - Justin Timberlake (pop)
Let It Rock - Kevin Rudolf (pop)
Afterlife - Avenged Sevenfold (Rock)
The Final Countdown - Europe (80's hair band) this one let's me know I am almost done.

I am not really much of a country fan, but the songs on the list are very catchy and quick, and they help me keep my pace fast. I wouldn't say that they are all something that will lift you up when you are down though.

Linkin ar has a lot of really up beat songs, my favorite song of all time, that i think is moodlifting, is 46 and 2 by tool, its all about steping out of your shadow and letting change consume you, its on every playlist of mine, and anything off the make youself album by incubus, just makes me feel good like a good person as a whole! ˆ like to listen to alot of Mudvayne when working out also, and some nin

HAHAHAHA. Ok so if you like people yelling in "your face" during your workout, may I recommend my personal favorite? PUNK ROCK. (Old school, please.) Anyway, it's super high energy, short songs, with lots of yelling and kicking drum beats. Granted, it's an acquired taste but thought I'd throw in my 2 cents.

Five Finger Death Punch- Never Enough really pumps me up!!

figureskater546 12-13-2008 06:15 AM

I am a total rock lover, but when working out , I have to work out to pop music . It really gets me going, like the kittycat dolls, lady gaga, charlotte church, shakiria, ect...

jahjah1223 12-13-2008 01:17 PM

Ive been jamming to "let it rock" by Kevin Rudolf for months now! lol

CassyCat 12-13-2008 02:52 PM

I know its a little odd..

But Britney Spears Albums uhhh Blackout and Circus...

Those are my workout tunes.

Normally im a big nine inch nails/tool/apc fan.

However, when i work out pop is what i neeed.

I recently discovered "Gorecki" by Lamb. Its not a particularly good work out song, but its a very good song for the mood, quite soothing i found
