OT: Kitties!
 

I know a few ppl have got new kittens on here, including myself (they are just too cute!). Mine (Molly) is going through a phase of chewing things- fingers, arms, legs, furniture, wires, boxes, toys- so im wondering if cats teethe? I know they lose their baby teeth around 4 months old or so, but my kitty is only 10 weeks old, 11 on wednesday. So is this just an exploration thing? Seeing what is good to bite? Just a play thing? She never draws blood or anything, and she's pretty much learnt to play with her claws in, her teeth are just a tad sharp :dizzy:

Yes, kittens do teethe, and believe it or not, some cats just like to chew on stuff and never grow out of it. I have two adult males (aged 2.5 and 3), and they STILL chew on everything. Fingers, moulding, scrunchies, hard plastic, drawstrings, cords, anything basically. I got them those flavored rawhide bones, the chewy pedigree treat chew bones for small dogs, and those Greenies chew bones. They love them and gnaw on them when they feel the urge or want a snack just like puppies. Keeps em' from chewing my plastic jewelry and game controllers and stuff.

aha so maybe its a combination of the fact she's teething a bit and she likes to chew :D

i know, shes adorable ^_^ U can see in that pic she has one paw up, poised to pounce on my pajamas. Looks like butter wouldnt melt...

My kitten is 10 weeks also! When is you're bday? What a cutie.

Mine likes to chew to, but not that much, he'll just chew when he plays...

I read somewhere that if they give you little nibbles it's like kisses. Same with licking and nose nudging.

i think her bday is the 21st september ^_^ they are so cute at 10 weeks! Little nibbles would be alright, but she tends to like to have a good gnaw :D maybe i need to get her something chewy and rubbery? Nose nudging is THE cutest thing EVER
