Default Measurements challenge

So, I'm sitting here measuring myself for a dress that I am ordering for a Yule formal. I'm thinking, hey, as long as I'm measuring and actually know my measurements for once, lets make it interesting. My goal is to lose 4 inches in my total measurements by January 31st. Now, I know that HWGA is going to join this challenge and put us all to shame, she'll probably lose 6 feet of herself before then, but I thought I'd put it out there as a challenge for those of us who are not only looking to lose in the scale, but to have NSV as well.

So, my measurements today are bust: 38.8 inches, waist: 32 inches, hips: 38 inches, left theigh: 25.5 inches.

I'm in. I highly doubt I'll drop all that many inches, but it's a nice thing to keep track of instead of just the number on the scale!

I have no idea what all the writing and the elastic is about on the image that I linked to, but that's just to show where a natural waist is, because people often as me what the **** I'm talking about. My real "waist" is not the smallest part of my stomach, because I'm a big ol' pear.

Bust: 36 inches
Natural Waist: 30.5 inches
Waist (around bellybutton): 38 inches
Left thigh: 22.5 inches
Right thigh: 23 inches

Hmm. Let's say.. that my goal is to lose... 5 inches by Jan 31st. I didn't lose many inches at all dropping from 160 to 149 (2 inches around my bust, 1 around my natural waist, 1 around my waist/hips), so I figure that with every pound that goes from here on, I'm much more likely to start losing some inches!

Why do I feel like more of a cow when I put my inches? ACK!

Bust: 47...wowish! If I lose some bust, that would be lovely, but if my band size gets any smaller, I won't be able to find bras anymore.
Waist: 42
Hips:52 (goodness!)
Thighs: 31

Oh you know I'll join this one! This is something I can do, the weight ones make me mad b/c it just doesn't happen for me. I don't know what my goals should be b/c I know that I can't keep losing inches like I have been. I mean is that realistic for me to believe I'll lose over a feet three months in a row?

12/1 starting measurements. Goal: 11 inches by Jan 1.
(I know it's an odd number but once I reach 50 inches lost, I'm getting my hair done.)
Chest: 44
Waist: 38.5
Stomach: 42
Hips: 47.5
Thigh: 27.5
Arm: 15

I have a question about the inches goals. When you say you're goal is to lose 4" does that mean all around...for example if you lost 2" in your waist and 2" in your hips that would be 4"? Or is it 4" for each measurement? I'm assuming the first, but I've always been confused about that.

Wee! Measuring is always much more satisfying because it isn't as tricky as the scale. I just measured myself last week and wrote everything down but I left that at home. Off the top of my head I can remember my bust, waist and hips, I'll just post the rest when I get home in a couple weeks.

Bust: 39.5"
Natural Waist: 31"
Below waist: 38"
Hips: 41"
Thigh: 21"
Arm: 11"

Let's say my goal is to lose 5" by Jan 31st!

HWGA: There you are, I was waiting for you to join. Um, if you make it four feet by Jan 31st, you will have set some kind of record, I'm sure of it...lol! Two more feet and you'll have lost someone the height of me, or Cali! I can't believe the inches you ahve lost, that has been a constant source in inspiration for me, when the scale isn't budging I think of you and how you keep on keepin on because you measure adn you know that something is happening for the better.

Awww! Thanks! If it wasn't for me losing crazy inches, I'm sure I would have given up. I think my goal will be 16 inches by Jan 31.... but secretly I'm hoping for a foot in December. I know, it could be crazy hoping but I'm going to try.

I'm in!!! Since I started trying to lose weight back in March 2008, I have loved looking at the inches go down! I guess my goal will be to lose 5 inches by Jan. 31st.

I might join in as well. I don't expect to lose huge numbers but it is nice to keep a record.

Waist (natural or smallest part) - 25"

Hips - 38"

Thighs - 20"

Chest: update later - dismally depressing anyway :P

I am so in...I have alot to lose, so hopefully this will help...and I never realized that my right side is bigger than my left. How often do we check in? Every week?
