Circuit training burns a lot of calories. I'm way heavier than all of you so mine is going to be a lot more than you. But for 25 minutes of moderate strength training with no rests, I burn 550 cals on average. Most of the time I think it's more than that. I use to burn 500 to 580 cals at Curves doing their circuit training and I know that's nothing compared to 30DS.

You can also use tools to help you calculate. The daily plate has a circuit training on the website and if you put your weight in it will calculate on average how many cals you would burn.

I hope that helps.

Ya I use dailyplate so that should help alot. Oh my gosh, I just finished my first workout with the video, I did NOT think it would be that difficult.

I have another question, so I'm in the last two weeks of term and I am taking an aerobics class. I have it Tuesday and Thursday, but we don't meet next week. Do you all think I should do 30ds on those two days where I have aerobics? Or skip those two days?

Oh also, I just looked on thedailyplate and the options for circuit training are

Circuit training, general minimal rest(574 cal/hour)
Circuit training, w/some aerobics minimal rest (759 cal/hour)

Which would you choose?

Drose- Good job girl! The first and second time is always the hardest. The 2nd day b/c you're sore, but just keep doing it! As far as your question, people do look at it differently. I have been very dedicated to the 30 days so I would do both, but it's completely up to you. A workout is a workout so you'd be fine with not doing it, I'm just weird. All I know is when I did it everyday for 30 days I got major crazy results, but that's just my opinion.

lol I feel like this is ask HWGA..... sorry if I'm coming across like a know it all. Anything I say is just based on what I've done and I know everyone is different.

Ladies, I would like to know how much weight you use. I am using 2kgs (4.4 lbs) for the squats and press, chest flies, and sometimes for the biceps curls. For the rest I use 1kg (2.2 lbs).
Also, do you keep working out during your 1st few days of your TOM?

I use 3 lb weights for everything, but I'm thinking of moving up to 5 lbs for some of the exercises.

I use 5 pound weights but thinking of moving up to 7.

Ouch- It could be painful during TOM, but I always exercise during. It makes me feel better after I'm done.

carcar--i was in the middle of level 1, but i restarted for the 30 days in december, too. i did it yesterday and today for the first time, i'm not really crazy sore....my calves kind of hurt, but not badly. i don't know it maybe it's because i did some extra stretching or what, but usually the walk down the stairs the morning after is painful. so i'm definitely in for today. it's good to know that if i just tough it out and do it even when i'm sore eventually the soreness will sort of go away.

I have to be totally and completely honest... I didn't do the 30DS last night. I have a lot of excuses, but just know that you probablywouldn't have done it either... haha!

SO... I have skipped my 1 day for December, I have to do it for every single day this month so I better do it in the mornings or it just wont' get done! SO I'm off to do it RIGHT NOW! I promise this time.

Ok, I'm game. I read about this on the forum when I joined and found the DVD at a local store. I haven't started yet because we went out of town right after I got it, so I planned to start yesterday. Then I woke up with a crick in my neck so bad I couldn't turn my head!! I'm scared to start, though. Crazy, I know, but I worry it'll be too hard or that I won't know what I'm doing or that I'll fall over or that I'll hurt too much after a few days and quit. Lame, I know, but it's still there! Here we go again is definitely an inspiration to all of us, though, so I'll give it a shot!

And my stats, for the record, even though they make me sad.

SW: 281
Arm: 15.5
Chest: 46.5
Waist: 54
Hips: 63 (The one that really got me! For the first time, the whole tape wouldn't fit around.)
Thigh: 26
Calf: 18

Gluto- Welcome! I'm so glad that you have joined us. I totally understand about being sad about the numbers. I have to say that I have so much respect for you. Despite how you feel you are going to do this and make a difference. You're not playing the shoulda coulda woulda game. It's not going to be easy and there are going to be times that you want to give up, but make sure you come here for support. There are so many times that I wanted to give up, but the ladies here encouraged me. I get way too much credit for what has been accomplished. Have you ever heard of that saying, it takes a village to raise a child? I feel that way. It takes a whole forum for this girl to lose weight!

Another thing, if you feel like quitting during the dvd, just remember you are lifting and jumping a lot more weight than those skinny girls!
