Oh, honey, you're totally not the only one. Taylor86 is in a long-distance relationship with.. her fiance, I think! He's in the UK and she's American I believe... I think... :D

I spent the summer of 2007 in Ireland on a "work exchange" with the "Student Work Abroad Program." So, I lived in Ireland for four months, working at a cafe, and a club, hanging out with Canadians and Americans I met, and best of all, meeting Irish people. :) I was out at a club one night (ironically, because I needed to get out of the house, since my "friends with benefits" boy was out on a date with some girl who'd asked him out.) So, me and my girlies went out, and we were approached by an incredibly drunk Irish guy, who was slurring and making an *** of himself while he attempted to hit on us. Me and my girl friends stared at him in entertained disbelief and giggled a bit at our incomprehension of what the **** he was trying to say.
A moment later, this adorable dark-haired guy came over, tugged on the guy's elbow and said in a sweet Irish accent, "Ahh, Jer, wulja leave 'em alone, like.." Well, as it turned out, Jer would not leave us alone, but it worked out in my favour, because Trev (my boy) sat down next to us, but a short distance away to wait for Jer... and gave me the opportunity to slide over, and ask brilliantly how the **** much Jer had had to drink. :D

What had actually happened was that they had driven to Galway from Dublin to see their friend from work DJ in some club... but they accidentally wound up in the wrong club. At which point, they ran into us. Fate!

I know it sucks being in a long distance relationship.. Trev and I are currently going mental. But I have faith that if things are really meant to work out... long distance or not... they will. :)

Have you told him that you've lost weight? Or are you trying to keep it a surprise as well? :D

The last time we had not seen each other since May and I saw him in august and had lost 15 pounds. This time I have only lost 5 more, but am hoping for 10 more again. It was a surprise last time, although he knew I was making healthy lifestyle changes because I was constantly working out and he saw that i was eating healthy. So I guess the long answer to the short question is I'm keeping it a surprise, as much as I can. :)
Sometimes I think I'm mental for keeping it on, but I can't imagine life without him. I met him 3 years ago while I lived in Georgia too. He's a computer network adminsitrator and the Girl Scout council i was working for was having issues with our email being infiltrated by some nasty messages. So I hollered out of the office at him, he invited me to lunch, and we dated. I moved to Chicago after that, and we broke it off, then I moved to Italy, came back last Christmas and we both realized it was crazy as we'd been talking every day, and weren't dating anyone else. So there we go since Christmas we've been back together and now I"m looking at trying to move back to where he is. The crazy things we do for love...

Hey ladies, just checking in. Gotta keep myself honest.

Went for a long (6 miles) but not particularly taxing hike yesterday. Ate a Zone Bar for breakfast, 1/2 roast beef sandwich and 1/2 a brownie (yikes) for lunch, and kalua pig, salad, rice, and a scoop of chocolate ice cream (aughgh!) for dinner. What can I say - I really wanted chocolate yesterday!

Today I'm doing much better with the food - Zone Bar for breakfast and a chicken and apple salad for lunch. I'm planning to have some fruit and cheese for a snack in the late afternoon. Don't know what I'm going to do about dinner yet, but ice cream will not be involved.

Yay for weekend support! Enjoy the day!

Jaclyn:
Hey, woman needs chocolate every once in a while. ;) It doesn't sound (by any means) like you ate an entire chocolate cake, or a bucket of ice cream. Try not to beat yourself up over small indulgences... simply do what you're doing! Make up for it by being perfect will-power-wise the next day! :D
